Who needs magic anyway?

on

Farming Inquisitor Towers is one of the best ways to get magic items in Pax Dei. You can get yourself a ton of essential magic items fairly early on by farming these towers, which will then allow you to start using magic in combat. That said, farming Inquisitor Towers can be a bit difficult to do, especially for players who are just starting out and don’t have access to magic themselves.

To help you get started, we will be looking at the best way to farm Inquisitor Towers without using any kind of magic. From essential items you need, to how to approach these towers, we will be covering everything you need to know.

How to Solo Farm Inquisitor Towers Without Any Magic

Inquisitor Towers will mainly consist of basic enemies like foot soldiers, archers, and a few mages. For players who aren’t that adept with the game’s combat system and overall gameplay, clearing out these towers can be a real challenge.

To successfully farm an Inquisitor Tower, you will need to have the right items and gear, and also know how to defeat the enemies found at the tower. We will be looking at both of those in more detail below.

Note: Our farming guide will mainly look at the best way to farm these towers when playing solo. The ideal approach for farming these towers will be a bit different when playing with other players.

Items & Gear

Having the right items and gear on you before attempting to farm an Inquisitor Tower is very important. They will increase your chances of success in clearing a tower, and make your life much easier. So what Items and Gear do you need to have?

Healing

Healing items are a must-have, as your HP and overall defense will be very low early on in the game. Having healing items will also lower your overall downtime between the enemies you will be fighting at these towers.

The Fine Venison Stew food item

Any healing items work for this, so try to take items you can easily craft yourself. Food is especially good here, as you can very easily cook it yourself and take as many as you like with you. To help you decide which food items you should take with you, check out our guide on the best foods to use. Generally, any item that will help boost your overall HP or HP regeneration is not a bad option.

Alongside food items, potions are also a great way to boost your HP and HP regen. Potions and food can also be used for other stats and benefits. Stamina regeneration for example is very good to have alongside HP regeneration.

Weapons

It’s also important to take a good melee and ranged weapon with you when going to farm a tower.

You have a number of different options when it comes to melee weapons in Pax Dei. Out of all the melee weapons in the game, one of the best ones to go with is the one-handed mace. It deals a ton of damage and goes very well with a shield. Alongside that, the mace is also very easy to use as you can spam the basic attack to deal a lot of damage.

For your ranged weapon, the best option is for sure going to be the bow and arrow. Having a ranged weapon is very important here, as you will need it to aggro enemies. The bow and arrow will also allow you to take down enemies from a safe distance.

Armor

When looking at armor, you won’t have a lot of options to go with in the early game. So any armor that has decent enough stats should work here.

Choosing the Right Tower

The different types of towers in Pax Dei. Red indicating a small one, yellow a medium one, and blue a large one.

If you look at your in-game map, you will notice that there are 3 different types of towers on there. When starting, try to farm items using small and medium-sized towers. The image above shows these towers, with the small one highlighted using a red box and the medium one highlighted using a yellow box. As you progress through the game and clear more and more towers, you can start approaching the larger towers and clear them.

There are also different layouts for the same type of tower. So the difficulty of a tower can also depend on the layout of it. The best way to find towers with good layouts is by clearing out as many different towers as you can. This will help you get familiar with the different layouts and decide which one you like best.

Fighting the Enemies at a Tower

When approaching an Inquisitor Tower, it’s always best to be extra careful and scout the whole area surrounding the tower. You never want to go in all guns blazing, as taking on multiple enemies will be extremely difficult. Try to take on 1-2 enemies at a time. So how do you take these smaller engagements?

Well, the best way to do this is by luring out one or two enemies using a ranged weapon like the bow and arrow. Just fire an arrow at them from a distance and instantly go backward when they aggro toward you.

After you’ve lured them away from the rest of the enemies, you can freely take them on and kill them. For this, you can either use your bow and arrow or a melee weapon. Whichever weapon you choose to use, always try to kite back and only attack after dodging an enemy’s attack. You can also use a shield to block enemy attacks. An important thing to note is that arrows are a limited resource. So when using them, try to be wary of how many you are using.

Fighting Mages

The hardest enemies at most Inquisitor Towers will be mages. Mages can deal tons of damage to you and take you down in a matter of seconds. When fighting mages, the best weapon is almost always going to be the bow.

The best way to fight a mage is by unleashing a series of quick arrows on them after they fire a spell at you. Pax Dei allows you to quickly fire arrows by simply tapping instead of holding when firing an arrow. If you tap the button you use to fire an arrow, the arrow will come out instantly. When using this, you will need to be a bit close to the target, as the distance which your arrow can travel will be lower. This method will eat through your arrows, but it’s better to use more arrows than lose extra HP by using melee weapons vs mages.

So there you have it, a complete guide on how to farm an Inquisitor Tower in Pax Dei. The first tower you clear in this game will take you some time, but as you clear more and more towers, it will start to become easier and you will go through them much quicker. Farming towers will get you a ton of magic items that you can then use to start using magic.
