Everything to Know About Cult of the Lamb’s Update: Unholy Alliance

Cult of the Lamb finally received a major update that goes by the name of Unholy Alliance. The best thing about this update is that it is completely free and yet we still get to see a lot of great new content. Including the long awaited local co-op mode.

Other than that, we also got to see new building types, tarots, relics, fleeces and much more! Complete information about all the new content of this update is given below.

All the Information You Need About the Unholy Alliance Update

In my opinion, the biggest change is the newly added Local Co-Op mode so let’s first get started with that!

Local Co-Op Mode

Now you are able to summon the Goat who will aid you in your runs. In the Co-Op mode, one of the players will control the Lamb and the other player will play as the Goat.

The game uses the Shared Screen method to achieve this so you won’t have to deal with an annoying vertical or diagonal line in the middle of the screen that comes with the Split Screen method. To play the Co-Op mode, you will need an extra controller. I have provided more information on how to start the Co-Op Mode in a separate guide.

New Follower Traits

To make things more interesting, this update brings an impressive amount of 21 new traits that your followers can have. All of the new traits are mentioned below with brief descriptions of what they do:

Mission Based Traits

• Inspired by Mission
  • These followers only have positive conversations with fellow followers.
• Excited by Mission
  • Followers with this trait will possess higher mating chances after they had an exciting adventure.
• Disturbed by Mission
  • These followers behave in the same manner as catatonic followers do. This trait can be removed through healing.

Criminal Based Traits

• Scarred Criminal
  • These followers will act similar to Coward followers.
• Hardened Criminal
  • Followers with this trait will act similar to Jerk followers.
• Reformed Criminal
  • These followers are 10% more productive.

Parent Based Traits

• Proud Parent
  • A follower with this trait will get unique thoughts about their child and can hug them no matter their age.
• Overwhelmed Parent
  • These followers will also have unique thoughts about their children. But they will appear exhausted most of the time and as a result, they will have negative conversations more frequently.

Marriage Based Traits

• Happily Married
  • These followers are 20% more productive.
• Unhappily Married
  • These followers are 20% less productive.
• Jealous Spouse
  • Followers that have this trait will keep on fighting other spouses until they end up killing them.
• Murderous Spouse
  • Similar to the “Jealous Spouse” trait but these followers will always end up winning fights.

Other Traits

• Poet
  • These followers do not work. The only thing they do is sit at the edge of your base and write poetry which includes unique lines for bosses that you defeat.
• Unlawful
  • During each phase, this follower has a chance of breaking out of prison and is even capable of breaking other followers out of prison as well.
• Snorer
  • These followers snore loudly at night which wakes up other followers that are sleeping nearby.
• Insomniac
  • Followers with this trait have a reversed sleep schedule. They work at night and sleep during the day.
• Catatonic
  • When a follower has this trait, they can not perform any task and will have limited interactions.
• Polyamorous
  • Followers that have this trait will not get any marriage related traits upon getting married.
• Pettable
  • You can pet these followers no matter what skin they have.
• Spy
  • These followers are capable of joining the cult by themselves. The way in which they behave or work is similar to any other follower. But after 5 days, they will leave the cult with 10% of total gold.
• Cursed
  • When a follower has this trait, they will not do any work and will have limited interactions. They are also capable of eating other followers.

New Buildings

The update brings two new types of buildings which are given below:

Nursery

• You can build as many Nursery buildings as you like. And In each Nursery building, you can place up to three babies.
• Babies placed in the Nursery are unable to escape baby jail until they become adults.

Knucklebones Table

• This building allows you to play a mini-game against another follower of your choosing. You can only play one match per day and if you win, the selected follower will level up. The difficulty of the match is determined by the follower’s current level.
• This building is unlocked after you defeat the Knucklebone gang at Ratau’s place.
• You can also play this game with your Co-Op partner.

Final Bishop Questline

A new questline for the Bishop is also added which further expands on the lore. This questline is available 10 days after finishing the previously available Bishop relic quests. Completing this questline will unlock a new trait and you will also get a special reward from Narinder.

New Fleeces and Transmog System

Two new Fleeces were added to the game and they are as follow:

• The Goat
  • With this fleece, you can play as the Goat however it does not have any bonuses. This will be available in the Crown menu after you have unlocked the corrupted Relics and Tarots.
  • This is bugged at the moment so if this fleece does not unlock for you then enable Co-Op mode at least once. Afterwards, check your Crown menu once again.
• The Cowboy
  • This fleece allows you to play as the Cowboy Lamb. It will be available once you unlock the Blunderbuss. With this fleece equipped, you will always start off with the Blunderbuss.

Fleece Transmog System

This new system allows you to equip any fleece’s cosmetic design you want on a fleece without having any effect on its traits through the “Custom Appearance” button. However, this option is not available for some fleeces that are regarded as purely cosmetic.

New Relics and Tarot Cards

We also got to see a bunch of new Relics and Tarot Cards get added to the game to spice things up. They are mentioned below:

Relics

• Normal Relics
  • 12 new normal relics.
• Corrupted Relics
  • 8 new relics of this type can now be obtained. These relics offer great advantages alongside disadvantages at the same time.
• Co-Op Relics
  • 5 relics of this type were added which can only be obtained in the Co-Op mode.

Tarot Cards

• Normal Tarot Cards –
  • 9 new normal tarot cards.
• Corrupted Tarot Cards –
  • 9 new corrupted tarot cards are also now available. They have both advantages and disadvantages in the same way as corrupted relics do.
• Co-Op Tarot Cards
  • 5 tarot cards of this type were also added which only drop in the Co-Op mode.

Force Weapon Mode

This option is available in the Accessibility settings. If you turn this option on, you will be able to select the weapon you want shown on every weapon pedestal during your runs.

New DLC: The Pilgrim Pack

Alongside the update, a new DLC by the name The Pilgrim Pack was also made available. If you are interested in getting it then the pack contains the following items:

• An interactive digital comic book which contains the full Pilgrim story with bonus pages.
• A unique in-game questline which unlocks the bonus comic pages.
• New fleece: Fleece of the Silken Touch.
• New follower outfits:

  • Rinor’s Robes.
• 5 new follower forms:
  • Panda
  • Skunk
  • Camel
  • Anteater
  • Echidna
• 5 new decorations:
