Zenless Zone Zero is right around the corner, and there are many mistakes that a lot of beginners want to avoid on release.

Things such as proper resource management, for example, are obvious traps for newbies. Just like other Gacha games, ZZZ likes to frontload how many materials you get. As a result, you might make the mistake of wasting precious resources simply because you seem to get them often…

Things like that are common in this type of game and that’s just one example of a mistake you can avoid! Read on and we’ll give you more tips and warn you of other potential mistakes you want to avoid making.

Mistakes to Avoid on Release for Zenless Zone Zero

Make Sure to Pre-Register

Pre-Register Button

You can do our first tip on this list before the game even launches: go pre-register. All you really need to do is create an account, which you’ll need to do once the game officially launches anyway. If you’ve already played other HoYoverse games, such as the Honkai series or Genshin Impact, you just have to log in to your account!

Just visit the game’s official website and click on the Pre-Register button to get started. This will allow you to get Agent Corrin, 20 Master Tape, 5 Boopon, and 30000 Denny once the game releases. The Master Tape and Boopon are for the game’s Gacha system, which we’ve covered more in-depth previously.

No Need to Reroll

Now, we understand that a lot of long-time Gacha players like rerolling to get a headstart by claiming a particularly strong unit or just a character they like. Zenless Zone Zero is not different when it comes to that, but the rerolling process is frankly exhausting.

To keep things short and sweet: it takes upwards of 40 minutes per reroll attempt in Zenless Zone Zero. To make matters worse, you can’t use guest accounts. You’ll need to create a new e-mail and account every single time you want to reroll.

Not only is this extremely time-consuming, it’s also simply annoying. Considering how the game’s Gacha system works, we simply recommend that you play the game normally and avoid rerolling. Of course, that’s just our recommendation, feel free to reroll if you wish. Just thought we would let you know what you’re getting into!

Don’t Forget to Explore

Exploring Sixth Street

Zenless Zone Zero has a lot of hidden interactables and chests which you really shouldn’t avoid. As such, it’s a good idea to try exploring every nook and cranny to get all of the sweet loot. It can be currencies, upgrade materials, and even some smaller events!

On that note, it’s good to familiarize yourself with Sixth Street in particular. It serves as an important hub area, featuring facilities such as the Arcade where you play minigames and even shops. Make sure to check out the Weekly Shop near the Arcade itself, which is run by 3 charming Bangboos. Their wares change every week, but it’s a good way to spend your in-game money on some items and materials.

It’s also a great idea to complete any side-quests you come across, as they’re always a great source of experience and items. Plus, you get to know more about Zenless Zone Zero’s crazy cast of charming characters!

Don’t Overinvest On Characters

Zenless Zone Zero Character

As a Gacha game with such an interesting cast of characters, Zenless Zone Zero basically invites you to roll for new characters often. But that’s one of the biggest mistakes you should avoid on release, at least as a new player!

Simply put, you’re unlikely to have enough upgrade materials and resources later on to keep your entire roster leveled up. It’s better to try focusing on a smaller group of characters that you like instead of spreading your resources thin across a large roster.

Upgrading a character

Similarly, you should also avoid spending your Master Tapes and Polychromes rolling the Gacha without a good reason… especially if you’re a F2P player! If you already have too many characters competing for resources, it’s better to save up your rolls for a banner featuring a character you really want.

Overall, you have to find the characters that match your playstyle and prioritize them first. Check out our guide on early progression to help you better understand how to manage resources on release!

Don’t Forget to Complete Challenges

Completing Challenges

As our last tip, let’s talk about challenges. Every mission you take on in the game, particularly the main Commissions, will have a set of optional objectives. These can be things such as completing without taking damage or within a certain amount of time.

Each challenge you complete will reward you with Stars as well as other extras, including Polychromes which are the game’s premium currency. Considering that you will need Stars later on to level up later on, it’s a good idea to try to just complete challenges as you go through the story. Plus, the extra currencies and materials you get are always welcome!

Simply put, don’t ignore these extra objectives. They’re extremely rewarding and key for progression.

Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
