Vigor is a free-to-play online survival shooter game which was initially released back in July 30, 2018. The game is set in post-apocalyptic Norway where you have to survive the harsh conditions and outlive the apocalypse. It is a challenging game that will require you to fully utilize all resources at your disposal.
This is why every Vigor player needs to optimize the way they play, which will involve employing the best possible playstyle and settings. Whether you’re a new player who needs assistance or just someone who wishes to get better at the game, this ultimate settings guide should help you out.
Ultimate Settings Guide
Before continuing on with this guide, it is important to note that not every single option chosen below will be suitable for you. Therefore, you should continuously experiment with and tweak your settings to find what suits you.
For the basic settings, it is best to keep the aim and sprint buttons at their default setting. It is best to turn off the vibration, as it can be distracting while playing.
Sensitivity
Regarding sensitivities, there are three types; look, 3rd person aim and 1st person aim. You should set your look sensitivity as high as possible. ideally, you want it to be around 90 – 100, so you can turn your character around quickly and react easily to any situation.
For your 3rd person aim, generally it is best to set it within a 30 – 60 range. If you can handle high sensitivities, set it to as high as possible. Otherwise, it is fine to keep it low.
Lastly, your 1st person aim should be set pretty low, below 30 preferably. Another thing to consider is that some people may prefer to keep their Y or X sensitivities slightly higher or lower than each other. You should experiment with this and find what suits you best.
Aim Assist
You have the option to turn aim assist on or off if you’re playing on a console. Having it on or off depends on your preferences. If you want to improve your aim without putting in too much effort, then have it on.
Alternatively, if you don’t mind spending more time to improve your aiming in a less obtrusive manner, turning it off is advisable. It is important to try both options however to know for sure which option is best for you
Movement Deadzones
You can toy around with movement deadzones as well for your controllers. These settings will aid your reaction time and dictate how much room you have to maneuver your analog sticks.
Setting your inner deadzones to as low as possible, for instance 10% – 20%, will lead to a quick reaction time. Setting your outer deadzones to as high as possible, for instance 75% – 85%, will give you a lot of room to move your analog sticks around, but it will take longer to reach the maximum threshold.
Aim Ramp-ups
Moving on to aim ramp-ups, these are directly linked with your sensitivity options from before. This setting will determine the speed of your camera while freely looking around or aiming with your right analog stick. All three sensitivities are affected by this one ramp-up setting.
Your Y and X ramp-ups should both be set higher than 1.00 x. Otherwise, the speed of your camera would be too slow. It is also recommended to set your Y ramp-up lower than your X ramp-up, as most of the movement in Vigor is horizontal.
Aim Acceleration
aim acceleration delay, time, and decay all affect the ramp-up speed, in milliseconds. These three settings are hard to break down and thus should be experimented with, so you can find the combination that works best for you.
Aiming Deadzones
There are also the aiming dead zones which are similar to the movement deadzones. It is recommended to set both inner and outer aiming deadzones to the same values as the inner and outer movement deadzones.
You should not set the inner deadzones to the lowest possible setting, as it can lead to possible stick drift.
Aim and Zoom Exponent
The aim exponent setting should be tweaked to your liking. It is recommended to set it within the 2.00 – 3.00 range.
The last setting is the zoom exponent, and it affects your 1st person aim. If you consistently engage in long-range encounters, it is best to have it higher. Comparatively if most of your engagements are short ranged, a lower zoom exponent is better.
Having optimized settings in any game will help your overall performance and enjoyment. Hopefully this guide will help you on your journey of becoming a great Vigor player others will envy.
