Enshrouded: Best 2nd Base Location

Enshrouded has been around in early access for a while now. However, everything changed yesterday when the game was fully released.

Players jumped right in and started building their bases, looting, and more. It didn’t take long before players started finding ideal locations for their 2nd base.

As we all know, Enshrouded Base is one of the most important elements in the game.

As you’ve probably guessed by now, this is the topic of today’s article. We’ll cover what we believe to be the ideal 2nd base location in Enshrouded and give you some tips on how to get there as well. So without further ado, let’s get started!

Best 2nd Base Location

Before we begin with the location, many of you might wonder, why even bother with a 2nd base? The reason for this is quite simple.

The 1st base that you get in Enshrouded, is predetermined by the game’s tutorial. This is the default location you will start in and is by no means bad, but there are better locations to make your home at.

One of such locations we will cover today, but make sure to stay tuned as more content is uncovered gradually.

We recommend not wasting a lot of time and resources on your first base as this base is expendable and will be abandoned in the first 30 minutes, to an hour of your first session.

2nd Base

Do make sure to have enough materials to build a basic 2 by-2 wooden shack before even attempting to start with this 2nd base.

In addition to this, you will need a glider and a grappling hook for this 2nd base location. We covered this in another article, you can read all about it here!

Next up, you need to unlock the Ancient Spires mission. This is unlocked after defeating the 1st boss in Enshrouded which is fairly easy to do. We managed to do it in the first hour of the playthrough. Once you get this mission, head to the mission objective and use the previously mentioned grappling hook to get over the obstacles in front of you.

This will take you to a castle on top of a hill. Here, you will have to complete a few puzzles to get to the next stage. The next stage is a portal that will take you to the top of the tower once completed.

Now, from the top of the tower, face north and use the glider to get to the highlighted area as indicated in the screenshot below.

This is the area you can plan on staying in the long run and is an ideal combination of strategic positioning, resource-wise (flint mining), and pretty much everything else you can think of when it comes to Enshrouded.

Do note that if you arrive here at nighttime, you could face potentially dangerous creatures. So keep that in mind.

Lastly, keep in mind that you might want to keep the 1st base active for a few levels until you get up on your feet and get well-established in the 2nd base.
