Salt is one of the most important resources to have in the early game of Enshrouded.
It has many uses in the game, but it’s also a resource that can be a bit tricky to acquire.
The main problem with salt is knowing where to get it. Our guide will help you out with that by pinpointing the exact location where you can get salt, and showing you how to mine it.
Where to Find Salt
The easiest way for you to farm salt in Enshrouded is by traveling to the Egerton salt mines. To get to the salt mines, you will first need to make your way to “Ancient Spire – Springlands Fast Travel”.
Most players would have unlocked this by now. If you haven’t, then make sure you do because it is a very useful spot to use when traveling to the locations below.
From the fast travel point, you can just jump down towards the salt mine and use the glider to make your way there.
One important thing to be wary of is that the salt mines are located in the shroud, meaning you will have to become enshrouded when making your way there.
For the purpose of mining the salt, you will not need more than 5 minutes. 5 minutes is the base time allowed in the shroud before you die. Using upgrades and consumables you can extend this time.
Other than that you can also utilize the grappling hook to save time in the shroud. You can learn more about the grappling hook from our guide which lets you know how to craft it and use it.
Once you reach the marker for Egerton salt mines, you will be able to mine the salt deposits. Mining the salt is pretty straightforward, as you will need to just equip the pickaxe and left-click to mine the salt.
Mine as much salt as you can within the time you are allowed to be in the shroud. Its also important to note that you also need to get out of the mine within the time frame.
What is Salt Used For?
Salt is very useful early on due to its use in making dried fur. To make dried fur you will need animal fur and salt. Dried Fur is essential to have early on as it is one of the main resources used in making a number of early-game items.
For example, the small backpack upgrade requires you to have Dried Fur to craft it.
So there you have it, a comprehensive guide on how to get salt in Enshrouded. Make sure you get enough salt to last you a long time, so you don’t have to make this journey anytime soon.
