Enshrouded: How to Replenish/Reset Enshrouded Time

The thing that helps Enshrouded distinguish itself from other RPGs is the shroud element in the game. In Enshrouded, you will find areas of the map that have been covered in a damaging shroud.

Our character in the game is somewhat resistant to the shroud, but only for a limited time. During this time, we can stay in the shroud and not take damage.

This guide will look at ways in which you can reset the time you are allowed in the shroud. By doing this, you can explore the shroud for longer and essentially have more time to defeat the enemies and bosses you need to.

How to Replenish/Reset Enshrouded Time

The first time you encounter the shroud and become enshrouded in it, you will have 5 minutes before you will die. Upon exiting the shroud, the timer on the top of your screen disappears. The next time you enter the shroud the timer will again start from 5 minutes.

Altars

Altars in Enshrouded act as checkpoints while you are inside the shroud. They provide you with a safe zone in the shroud, and standing next to them will reset your timer and take it back to 5 minutes. As long as you are standing next to the altar, the timer will stay at 5 minutes.

Lanterns

Other than the altars, you can also stumble upon small lanterns when enshrouded. You can interact with these lanterns, and interacting with them will reset your timer.

These lanterns are one-time-use items. Once you use one lantern, you will not be able to use it again in that run.

Increasing the Time Allowed in the Shroud

The base time allowed in the shroud is just 5 minutes, but you can increase this time using upgrades in the game. You can upgrade your altars in the game, which will in turn increase the maximum amount of time you are allowed in the shroud.

As you progress through the game you will find various other upgrades to help you traverse the shroud, so always be on the lookout for these.
