Genshin Impact’s latest Fontaine update introduces two new TCG items: the “Pankration!” card and the “Fortress of Meropide” card back.
As you might have guessed, though, getting them isn’t quite as easy as just buying them! You’ll have to do some legwork first to earn them.
In this guide, we’ll take you through every step of unlocking both of these TCG items!
How to Unlock Pankration and Buy the Fortress of Meropide in Genshin Impact
“The Fortress of Meropide” card back and the “Pankration!” card are available from the Rag and Bone Shop. They can be used in the in-game TCG, Genius Invokation!
The Rag and Bone shop is aptly located in the real Fortress of Meropide, and you’re introduced to it as part of the Fontaine world quests!
However, both of the TCG items first appear as “reserved by someone else”. There are a few prerequisites you have to meet for them to become available, sadly. It’s never easy, is it?
The first pre-requisite is that you have to complete the “Unfinished Comedy” World Quests. They are automatically started once you reach the Fortress of Meropide in the Liffey Region of Fontaine.
After completing these quests, you’ll instantly get the “Both Brains and Brawn” World Quest. As you might have guessed, completing this quest is the second pre-requisite!
“Both Brains and Brawn” involves a series of Pankration battles, as well as some basic overworld puzzles.
Once that’s done and dealt with, there’s one last thing to do: wait it out. Yup, your work here is done, now you just have to wait!
More specifically, you need to wait for two or three Daily Resets to pass. These happen at 4 AM every day, based on your server’s time.
Kinda annoying having to wait it out in real-time, but it is what it is! We recommend using the time to hoard Credit Coupons.
Anyway, with the World Quests completed and the Daily Resets passed, head on back to the Rag and Bone Shop.
Both of the TCG items should now be available! You can buy two “Pankration!” cards for 250 Credit Coupons each, and one “The Fortress of Meropide” card back for 1500 Credit Coupons.
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
