Wuthering Waves just got another update, which means another new region was added to the game, and this one is called the Sanguis Plateaus. There are a lot of chests in this place, and some of them might be hidden behind certain puzzles that you might not have been aware of. In this guide, we will be going through the different secret chests you can find in the map.
Wuthering Waves – All Sanguis Plateaus Secret Hidden Chests Locations
To save you a lot of time, we will be going through the locations quickly in a list. These are not exactly “secrets” as they are just out in the open and all marked by a very distinct crab statue/shrine. You just need to do a simple puzzle for most of them, if you can even really call them puzzles.
So, with that said, here are the chests that you need to do certain steps to gain access to:
- Hidden Chest #1 – First up, head to the west of the region. There, at the leftmost corner, as far back as you can go, you will find a bunch of stone crab statues on the ground. Simply turn them around until they are all aligned and facing the correct way, which is towards the water. This will reveal your first hidden chest.
- Hidden Chest #2 – A little to the northeast of the first chest, you will find a very small and isolated island in your map. Head over there and talk to Explorer Philipps, who will ask you to look for some shrimp to offer to the crab statue. This thing will be highlighted on your screen and map, so just follow the icon and grab it, then return to Philipps to reveal the chest.
- Hidden Chest #3 – Directly to the west of Atilius Canyon, you will find another small and isolated island. As you approach it, you will find a bunch of hostile animals waiting near a familiar looking statue. Simply kill the enemies and the crab shrine will grant you a chest after speaking with Philipps once more.
- Hidden Chest #4 – To the northeast of the fast travel point at Atilius Canyon, you will find yet another small and isolated island. This time, there will be a ghost of a crab there. The game will tell you to just “touch the crab’s phantom”, so go and do that. After a few touches, you will unveil a chest at the crab shrine nearby.
- Hidden Chest #5 – Directly to the east of Atilius Canyon, at the rightmost tip of this large landmass, you will find a bunch of bright boxes beside an enormous tree. Behind these crates is another crab shrine that sticks out like a sore thumb. Simply break the boxes to spawn another chest for you to claim.
- Hidden Chest #6 – Follow the shore south from the previous chest. Eventually, around the southeast of the Hunter’s Den fast travel point, you will find another crab shrine just out in the open. Simply offer three Bell Crabs in order to spawn yet another chest.
- Hidden Chest #7 – You may have noticed another isolated island to the east of the last two chests. There will be another crab shrine here that you can deliver some Bell Crabs to. After doing so, you will get another one of these simple supply chests.

The next set of chests are not exactly the same as the others, as they are merely part of a quest that you can do in this region. With that said, we may as well cover them anyway. All of these are unveiled by speaking with the quest NPCs who can be spawned at the very bright glowing shrines that you cannot possibly miss:
- Hidden Chest #8 – Next, upon starting the Woodo and Woona quest, there is a small spot you can fly and grapple into up above. There, you will find a spirited wootter that you can speak with.
- Hidden Chest #9 – From the last chest, glide straight towards the glowing stone statue below to your northwest. Interact with it to spawn another spirited wootter, which will grant you another supply chest for free.
- Hidden Chest #10 – From the previous chest, fly up to the rock formations stuck to the walls to the east. You will find another shrine there. Again, speak with the spirited wootter for another free chest for you to claim.
- Hidden Chest #11 – Glide down towards the bright purple river below. Just a bit to the southwest of the fast travel point that is found to the east of Maroonwood, you will find yet another shrine there along the purple river.
- Hidden Chest #12 – Even further east, to the right of where the aforementioned fast travel point is in the map, you will find yet another shrine along the cliff wall. Again, approach it and interact with the glowing marker to claim your next chest.
- Hidden Chest #13 – Literally right under where the fast travel point to the north of Maroonwood is, you will find another shrine with a spirited wootter to talk to. As usual, talk to it and you will be granted another free chest.
- Hidden Chest #14 – Directly to the northeast of where the previous chest was, you will find another one of these shrines along the cliff wall. In fact, you should be able to spot this from the exact place where the last chest is, so you can’t miss it at all.
- Hidden Chest #15 – Another one of these chests can be found directly to the northwest of the fast travel point near Maroonwood. You will find it to the southwest of where the Rustblood Pass text is in the map.
- Hidden Chest #16 – Speaking of Rustblood Pass, there is another shrine under the northern half of the pass itself, on the left side. Just look around til you find the shrine, and then speak with the spirited wootter as you did with the rest.
- Hidden Chest #17 – Another shrine can be found directly to the northwest of Murmurstown, along the cliffside as usual. Again, just look for a shrine that is violently glowing from a distance, you can’t miss these.
- Hidden Chest #18 – Check between The Wastelands & Rustblood Pass. You will find the next shrine along the cliff wall on the right side of Rustblood Pass.
- Hidden Chest #19 – Directly to the south of The Wastelands, you will find another shrine down there. You can see this from the previous chest, so just look to the south and start gliding towards it.

And that is all there is to it. Once you get the last shrine, you can now return to Woodo and Woona to complete the quest, which will grant you a trophy for all your efforts. No chest here, just a quest completion! Now go forth and check out the rest of the features of this new region!
