Exploration pays off greatly in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, as even the early regions of the game have over 25 powerful items you can pick up.

For example, there’s a certain unassuming camp full of Redcaps that hides an armor set that boosts Mana Regeneration. There’s also another completely unmarked camp in the middle of nowhere that has a Ring you can equip to get a whopping +30 Max Health. All of these can be tough to find without help, however…

In this guide, we’ll help you find about 25 of these powerful early game items. There’s something for every build here!

How to Get 25+ Powerful Items Early | Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

Swierkon the Horse

Horse | Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon: How to Get 25 Powerful Items Early

Let’s start our list of the 25+ best powerful items you can get early in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon with a unique one! While a horse isn’t technically an item, it’s one of the best things you can get early on. You can find it in the spot marked above, directly west of the Ruined Broch fast travel point. This fast travel point is on the eastern part of the Horns of the South region. Either way, Swierkon is the white horse on the marked spot.

This isn’t the only mount in the game, as you can find others even in this same region. However, this is one of the easiest to grab early. You can’t fight on horseback at all, but you can mount the horse to speed up your travels!

Flame Torrent and Hexed Bow

While you’re already near the Ruined Broch, it’s a good idea to pick this pair of items up. For them, go west of the Ruined Broch fast travel point. You’ll find a lone stone tower there, climb up to the top of it and open the Reinforced Chest you find there to get both items.

Flame Torrent is a spell that works great for spellcasters requiring some melee-range power. The Light Cast blasts all enemies within melee range while the Heavy Cast creates a stream of fire that applies Burn to any enemies in front of you.

As for the Hexed Bow, it’s a lightweight bow with magical properties. Its arrows will deal an additional 5 Magic Damage.

Blood Transfusion

Next up, let’s get a powerful early-game spell. You can find it in the southeastern corner of the Horns of the South region. It’s by the East Gate fast travel point. There’s a blood pool with a statue there, pray at the statue to earn the spell!

The basic Light Cast for this spell shoots a projectile which applies Bleed. More importantly, the Heavy Cast allows you to continuously drain health from enemies, damaging them while healing you. Both of these casts can be a great boon early in the game!

Claymore and Poniard

Claymore and Poinard

If spells aren’t your thing, there are also a couple of powerful blades you can pick up early on. For those, go to the Ruined Marked Square directly east of the Horns of the South city fast travel point. You’ll find the Claymore and Poniard inside a pair of chests there. You’ll need to pick the chests’ locks, but they should be easy.

The Claymore is a two-handed blade while the Poniard is a one-handed blade. They both are solid choices for early-game weapons, as long as you favor melee combat.

Nightshade Charcoal

Not far off from the previous couple of items, go northeast of the King’s Road fast travel point. You should see some debris there with a corpse hiding under it. Do be warned, there are Undead roaming the area and ready to throw hands if they see you!

Either way, approach the corpse and you should see a plant of sorts in front of it. That’s the Nightshade Charcoal Relic, which you can equip to increase your Sneak Damage by 10%. It’s nice for getting some stealth kills early on.

Mace

Mace

Are you fonder of smashing than slashing? Well, the Mace should come in handy, and it’s on the way to the next few powerful early items we’ll be picking up in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. Just go to the path leading to the coast on the southernmost part of the region and you should see a chest on the path down.

The Mace is a pretty standard early-game weapon, so it’s nothing too crazy. Nonetheless, it’s a pretty solid weapon at this point in the game if you need a one-handed blunt weapon. Plus, as we said before, this will lead to a path with quite a few of our 25 or so powerful early game items in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.

Worn Druidic Armor Set

Right after picking up the Mace, continue south down to the coast. Then, turn to your left to face east. You should notice a couple of tents made out of sticks, no doubt courtesy of the local Redcaps that are there to attack you. Approach the nearest tent to find a chest with this armor inside of it.

This Worn Druidic armor set doesn’t provide amazing protection, but each piece of it does increase your Mana Regeneration. So, it’s ideal if you’re planning to focus on spellcasting!

Gem of Stamina

This is in the same Redcap camp as the Druidic armor set. For this one, just go into the stick tent that’s further east on the camp and loot the chest within.

This Gem of Stamina is an equippable Relic that multiplies your Stamina Regeneration by x1.2. In other words, +20% Stamina Regeneration! This can really help you in a pinch during the early game since Stamina is harder to manage at lower levels.

Molten Lightning

Molten Lightning

We’re not done with powerful early items alongside the southern coast in the Horns of the South region, this is one of the best early locations for loot in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. For this one, go further east from the Redcap camp until you reach a ruined doorway. You’ll find a lone chest there near some Skeletons. Loot it to get the Molten Lightning.

The Molten Lightning is a special pair of gauntlets for anyone who loves larger weapons. Equipping it will decrease Stamina costs by 20% while you’re dual-wielding. It also provides pretty decent defense!

Spear of an Ancient Hero

One last item to pick up in the southern Horns of the South coast! For this one, go further southeast until you see a big bad Ogre. Try to avoid or kill the Ogre and dig up the buried chest near them to collect the chest’s loot.

The Spear of an Ancient Hero is a powerful one-handed spear, as it can apply Bleed whenever you damage enemies. On top of that, you’ll get guaranteed Critical hits whenever you hit an enemy that’s at full Health! Excellent for initiating combat with the upper hand.

Hunter’s Amulet and Hailstone

Broken Pier Items

This time we’re going for a 2-for-1 deal! To start, go to the broken-down pier on the southeastern corner of the Horns of the South region. You’ll find a Reinforced Chest there with both of these items together. Pick the lock and claim the loot within!

The Hunter’s Amulet is a Relic that you can equip to increase Weak Spot Damage by 20%. Not bad for quickly taking enemies out with precise attacks, right?

As for Hailstone, it is an ice spell. The Light Cast fires a small Chilling projectile while the Heavy Cast fires a large chunk of Chilling ice. It’s good to have in the repertoire of any aspiring spellcaster.

Archer’s Quicken Gloves and Thunderous Greatbow

Archer Items | Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon: How to Get 25 Powerful Items Early

For those of you who have been wanting more loot for archers, this is all yours! You can find this pair of archery items at the top of a tower north of the Sunken Village in the Horns of the South region. Enter the house with the rope bridge and make your way up to cross said rope bridge.

Archer Corpse

You’ll eventually reach a wooden platform with a corpse there. Loot the body for the Archer’s Quicken Gloves and then grab the Thunderous Greatbow next to the corpse.

True to their name, the Archer’s Quicken Gloves increase your draw speed with bows by 10%. As for the Thunderous Greatbow, it has the special effect of causing 30 Damage in an area when you fully draw the string to fire. However, it consumes 15 Mana per fully drawn shot.

Eclipse Shard, Ring of Protection, Cloak of Retribution, Aegis of Retribution, Summon Keeper, and Silent Keeper

Wreck of Andastre Island | Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon: How to Get 25 Powerful Items Early

If you’re tired of all the 2-for-1 deals, how about a 6-for-1? All of these powerful early items are found within the same small area in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. To get them, swim all the way to the lone island on the easternmost part of the Horns of the South region. It’s the one with the Wreck of Andastre point of interest.

Explore the island and you’ll find all of these items but do be warned that a Grindylow is awaiting to fight you as you reach the shore. Here’s what all of the items do:

  • Eclipse Shard (Two Handed Blade) – Your next attack is applied one extra time for each successful Parry.
  • Cloak of Retribution – Taking damage increases Lifesteal by 2% for 3 seconds.
  • Aegis of Retribution (Shield) – Deal 30% of the parried damage back to an attacker when landing a successful Parry.
  • Summon Keeper (Magic) – The Light Cast sics your summoned minions on the target you specify. The Heavy Cast summons a Keeper minion which fights by your side.
  • Ring of Protection – Increases Armor by 1. Nothing fancy, but some nice extra defense.
  • Silent Weaver (Wand) – Reduces Mana Costs by 15%.

Ambergris Fragment +2

Ambergris Fragment

Next up we have an item that’s great to make yourself a tad more resilient. For this one, go to the unmarked camp on the northeastern shore of the Horns of the South. You’ll find a locked chest with the loot next to the camp’s tent.

The Ambergris Fragment +2 is an amulet that increases your Max Health by 30. Considering how low your HP is early in the game, though, this is a massive boom!

Arthur’s Seal and Ancient Oak’s Root

Pair of Rings | Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon: How to Get 25 Powerful Items Early

To finish up our list, let’s get another pair of rings that will make you more resilient. For these, go to the Roscree fast travel point in the northern part of the Horns of the South. From there, go north until you reach a rundown camp. You’ll find a pair of buried chests with these goodies in them there.

First of these, Arthur’s Seal that increases both your Max Health and Max Stamina by 5%. Ancient Oak’s Root increases your Health Regeneration by 0.2. Both of these are great for survivability in the early game, just in different ways!

That’s all of the most notable early game loot we found in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon! This is far from everything, however, as there’s still hundreds of more goodies to find in the world. Make sure to explore thoroughly in this game, it’s greatly rewarded!

Gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
