Just in case, no, they are completely unrelated to Beast Taming! Instead, they’re mostly obtained from events, quests, and chests.

Also, before you’re able to complete all 12 Rings, you’ll first need to collect 4 Golden/Dragon Keys to open some of the chests. Here’s how to get them:

  • Village Head of the Nameless Village: Reach 100 Devoted Relationship through quests/gifts.
  • Win the Chuxiang Hero Tournament and choose option number 4 (the bottom).
  • Trade with Jiang Nanguai (The Dirty Street Leader). You’ll need 20 Relations.
  • Invite Zhang Lata (Confucius): You’ll have to beat him on a 1 v 1, the higher your relationship with him, the easier it will be to convince him.
  • Ice Prison: You can access a room by breaking ice blocks in the Southeast part of the area.

Now, without further ado, this is where to find all of the Animal Rings currently in the game:

  • Dog: Earned by defeating Unchained Emperor Lao as part of the Confucius Temple or Shifa Temple questlines. Can also be earned by rescuing Emperor Lao for the Ye Family Battalion.
  • Dragon: Found on the 6th Level of the Enlighten Tower.
  • Goat: Earned by becoming the Lewd Old Man’s disciple in the Nameless Village and completing his questline. You can also get it by defeating Unchained Emperor Lao for the Taoist Sect, which prevents you from getting the Dog Ring.
  • Horse: Found in a chest at the Nest of Swallow. You will need to either master Machinery or defeat Bu Juechen to enter the secret room, as well as a Dragon Key to open the chest.
  • Monkey: Found in a secret room in the Longevity Tomb as part of the Confucius Temple questline. Requires you to master Machinery.
  • Mouse: You get it by taming the cat, San Hua, near the Forgotten House in Chuxiang. Feed him fish until you max its affection to get the ring.

  • Ox: Found in the secret chamber of the Nameless Village’s leader’s house. Raise your relationship with him and he’ll reveal the entrance to you. You need a Dragon Key for the chest, as well.
  • Pig: Sold at the Dirty Street Auction in Chuxiang. It’s extremely expensive and rare, so bring a lot of money! It’s usually sold as the last item in the auction.
    • In case you’re wondering how to trigger the auction, you’ll have to listen to a rumor about the auction from two merchants. You can find them engaged in conversation within the local inn.
  • Rabbit: In a chest hidden under a stack of hay at the top corner of the Refugee Camp in Xiangfan. You can Immobilize the refugees to avoid fighting them. You’ll also need a Dragon Key to open the chest.
  • Rooster: Found by climbing the cliff past the border gate in the Wuxia Moutain Peak. You’ll need either 20 STR, 20 DEX, or 20 Rope as well as 100 Stamina.
  • Snake: Found in a chest inside the secret chamber at the Horse King Cave. You’ll be told about the cave by speaking to a Wanderer at the inn in Lin’an’. You need a Dragon Key to open the chest.
  • Tiger: Found in a chest at the end of the Wolf King Cave inside the Wild Wolf Valley. Unlike every other chest in this list, you won’t need a Dragon Key!

Phew, that’s a lot of work, isn’t it? Nonetheless, now you know exactly where to find all of the 12 Animal Rings that correspond to the Chinese zodiac signs!
