It’s worth noting that while you only need 15 wives for this achievement, there are some routes that can prevent you from marrying other characters if you complete them too early.

This in turn prevents you from marrying other NPCs like Fu Yaoqin, Yu Weier, and Gu Qingcheng.
As such, I recommend skipping Miao Caidie altogether, especially since she’s one of the hardest to get anyway. You also want to leave Princess Fuqing until the end since marrying her will apply a permanent relationship penalty.
This would make it harder to raise your Affinity with the other female companions.
With that out of the way, let’s go over all of the potential NPCs that you can marry. There are a total of 18 but you only need to marry 15 of them. This is the name of every NPC and where to meet them:
- Hua Siniang – Nameless Village
- Ye Yinping – Ye Family Battalion
- Luo Qianxue – Crime Investigation Bureau
- Hua Qingqing – Nest
- Ling Mengdie – Confucius Temple
- Ya Qin – Confucius Temple
- Jiang Ziyan – Chuxiang Inn
- Qu Wangyou – Plant Sect
- Fu Yaoqin – Melody House
- Yu Weier – Melody House
- Gu Qingcheng – Melody House
- Miao Caidie – Jiuli Tribe
- Lady/Princess Fuqing – Daliang and Lin’an
- Yan Rurui – Daliang Maiden House
- Man Tulou – Snowflower Valley
- Yi Zhihua – Daliang Casino
- Han Hongyu – Tiger Escort
- Wan Yan Zhaoming – Yan Yun Palace Camp
Since you only need 15, you can ignore three of them! The hardest ones to get are the following:
- Hua Qingqing: Requires you to get Persuade 3 and Steal 4 skills, as well as pay 50.000 to the Swallows. You also need -40 Benevolence and Propriety to recruit.
- Ling Mengdie: Requires you to have Machinery 5 or avoid killing the Tomb Raider. Alternatively, you should have a Level 4 Back Mountain at the Homestead.
- Miao Caidie: Requires Beast Taming 4 and will lock you out of the Melody questline, which leads to marriage with 3 other NPCs.
Also, it’s not possible to marry all 18 NPCs in a single playthrough without using glitches and exploits that might get patched out by the developers!
Pre-Requisites To Get 15 Wives
You will want to pick any traits that grant you the “+Gift Effect” boost, as well as traits that help you level up faster like Fake Newcomer.
Additionally, you should save this achievement for a New Game+ playthrough, once you’ve acquired a lot of other achievements.
This is because you will get extra stat and trait points in character creation based on how many achievements you’ve unlocked, making it easier to meet the demands of your future wives.
Also, make sure to have a Homestead with a good set of Manuals and items.
How To Marry Characters
When you’re all set, it’s time to talk about how to actually marry characters!
The first step of this is obvious, you just have to meet the characters out in the world which you can meet at the different locations listed earlier in this guide.
You will then need to recruit them and complete their quests, while also ensuring that you pick any romantic dialogue options you can. These are few and far between, but also extremely obvious.
Also, give gifts to your future partners as often as possible, as you need to get their Relations to reach 100.
Next, head to the Temple in Chuxiang and meet the old couple there to witness an event. They will gift you a Wedding Stone and tell you where to find the God of Marriage’s Shrine.
Take your partners with 100 Relations to the God of Marriage’s Shrine, making sure that they’re your only party member besides your protagonist.
You will take part in an easy battle; win it to get Bonded with your partner! Lose and you will need to spin the Marriage Slot Machine to marry. It’s quite a unique system, that’s for sure!
Either way, you just need to repeat this process until you marry 15 characters. Each character has their quirks, making marrying them easier or harder, but the system is mostly the same for everyone.
