Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a revamped version of a really old yet still popular and iconic skateboarding game franchise, which almost every single gamer who grew up in the early 2000s has seen or played at some point in their lives. There are a ton of secret places to unlock in the game’s many levels, and all you need to do are some very simple tasks. This guide will show you how to unravel these secret spots!

All of the Secret Areas & Easter Eggs in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4

There are a whole lot of levels in this shockingly good remake, and unlocking them is actually quite simple. In this guide, we will be going through each of the relevant levels and talking you through the steps you need to follow.

The Foundry Level

In the foundry, the secret area is actually extremely easy to unlock and only requires you to go around the entire level real quick. If you pay attention to the sides of the map, you will see a bunch of large valves with a lot of steam coming out of the wall.

Simply jump onto each of these five valves to un-jam them. Once you have gone through all five of the valves in the map, which are impossible to miss unless your eyes are closed, a cutscene will play.

This opens up the Generator 1 Core door in one part of the map, revealing a rather large spiral that you can ascend. At the top is a collectible that will add new items to the secret shop. Plain and simple!

Canada Level

In the Canada level, simply turn around as soon as you spawn in and then use the snowy ramp to get up the log cabin there. This cabin is connected to a wooden pathway, but instead of following it, ride the logs leading into the rockface up ahead.

At the end, you will find a short wall with some graffiti on it. You can ride this to reach a halfpipe up above, which you can then ride to reach yet another halfpipe that gives you access to a wooden ramp that leads to a broken railway track up above.

This broken metal railway track will lead you to a floating tape in the sky, which you can reach by riding on a very thin strip of metal sticking out to the side.

Rio Level

In Rio, you barely need to do anything to get to the secret area. As soon as you spawn in, head out of the skate park and travel to your left. At the alleyway, you will find a few flimsy wooden boards blocking the way.

Simply break through this blockage by riding through it and you will reveal a hidden bowl that you can do tricks on. There is a deck you can collect here by simply riding up the bowl and getting high enough into the air.

Suburbia Level (Multiple Areas)

When you first spawn in at the Suburbia level, head to the construction site to the side. There, you will find an axe out in the open. You can’t possibly miss it, as it is floating in the air and has a green and black aura that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Once you have the axe, go to the part of the cul de sac that has a bunch of ghost decorations. Simply follow the hanging ghosts and lights until you reach the closed down house, where a man in a suit is waiting.

This will play a cutscene as you complete the “Help the Thin Man” goal. The thin man will then break open the house, allowing you to enter this entire “secret” area, where you have a whole lot of space to do tricks.

You can even break through the window up top to enter the upper floor, where you will find a coffin and a floating tape on the other side of the room, which requires you to shatter yet another window. If you want, you can also try to use the halfpipes outside to reach the tip of the house.

Finally, there is also a small secret outside of the house. There is a door that opens into a black abyss, and falling into it will actually give you an achievement. You just need to wait for it to open up, and then fall straight in to the nothingness.

Airport Level

In the airport, you can go into the x-ray baggage scanner to the right as soon as you spawn in to the map. This will lead you through a conveyer belt, which takes you to the passports needed to complete a goal in this level.

In this area, right after the x-ray, you will find a parked helicopter. This is actually the “secret” here, as you can jump on top of its blades to activate it. There is a yellow and black ramp on one side that you can use to get on top of it.

Once you get off the helicopter, the pilot will say that he is taking it to the skies as a skater is on the blades. It will then fly out of the level, and doing this gives you a few points as well.

Skater Island Level

Once you spawn in to Skater Island, head out of the building to the left and get on the large pirate ship. From here, ride through the bowsprit, which is the wooden pole sticking out of the front of the ship.

If you jump off of its tip and fall right into the water, you will see a Bikini Bottom sign down there. Upon hitting the water, you will get the “Several Days Later” or other equivalent screen and get teleported into Bikini Bottom.

It is just a silly little Spongebob reference, and there are some ramps here that you can use for tricks. If you jump into the large gap up ahead, you will be teleported back out into the actual map.

Los Angeles Level

In this level, you can activate a secret earthquake by grinding on a set of red rails that you can find near the area you spawn in. Here are the following locations you need to go to:

  • Quake Rail #1 – At the Books and Boards spot right in front of where you spawn in the level, there is a red rail on the left, and grinding all the way through it will activate a tremor.
  • Quake Rail #2 – Turn right immediately after getting onto the road once you are done with the previous one. You will find another red rail along the sidewalk. This is the Southern Quake Rail.
  • Quake Rail #3 – Continue to the right heading back to where you first spawned in to the level. The red rail leading back up along the road is the Northern Quake Rail. If you fail to activate it on the way up, do it again going downwards.
  • Quake Rail #4 – Finally, to the left of where you spawned in, you should see a red rail there. It sticks out from the regular black one beside it, so this is extremely easy to spot. In fact, you might have seen it as soon as you loaded in.

After all four quake rails have been activated, which will notify you on the screen, by the way, a cutscene will play out. This will show an earthquake wrecking certain parts of the level, adding more spots for you to explore and do tricks on.

Ride the cable to the left of the spawn point to reach the roof of the building up ahead. From there, you will gain access to the flyover that just got ruined by the earthquake.

Up here, you can jump on the crashed car from the cutscene, which will trigger yet another scene. This is also how you complete the goal to stop the car chase, as the woman’s wrecked vehicle will block the way below.

Tokyo Level (Multiple Spots)

In the Tokyo level, you can ride up the wall beside a scrolling Vans advertisement, which will lead you to a bunch of railings and cables that you can ride to get further up. This path will eventually bring you to the large circular neon sign with the chibi skater on it.

By approaching this neon sign, you will trigger a cutscene where a bunch of cables break, causing the sign to shut off and fall into the ground below. There is a wad of cash that you can grab in the spot where the sign used to be.

There is also a secret skate park of sorts at the left side of the map. You need to get up on the platform above the signs on the left, which leads to a massive hole on the side of a building. By going through this hole, you will eventually enter a secret skate park with a lot of red lanterns hanging above it.

Cruise Ship Level

At the cruise ship level, you can unlock a secret area by completing the stunt gauntlet. To do this, you will need to do certain stuns in three specific parts of the map, all of which are actually pretty simple if you know where they are. Here are the things you need to do:

  • Stunt #1 – At the spot with hanging planters, you will find a bit of graffiti that says “Grind the 808” You will need to get on to the wires connecting the planters above by going up the ramp where the graffiti is painted on. Grind these wires until the game tells you that the stunt has been completed.
  • Stunt #2 – On the opposite side of the ships, where all the stores are, you will find graffiti that says “Manual the Shops”. As you get up the ramp, start to do a manual and keep it up until you get past the last shop. There is a ruler on the ground, which you can use as a guideline to see where the stunt starts and ends.
  • Stunt #3 – Finally, on the upper deck where you spawn in at this level, you will have to use the small pipes here to get airborne and grab the helicopter by performing a trick on it. Once you have grabbed the chopper, as the graffiti tells you to do, all stunts should now be completed.

When you are done with all three stunts, which we are unsure if you have to do in this specific order, head back down and look for the giant gold medal on a pedestal. Skate up the pedestal to touch the medal and trigger a cutscene.

The gold medal will fall off and start rolling to the side, breaking through the glass and sending a man flying into the water. This will trigger the safety nets along the side of the cruise ship.

Alcatraz Level

In the Alcatraz level, the secret is very simple to uncover, you just need to go around the map real quick to do it. Search for the green trash bins scattered around the map, and then break them by riding into each of them.

After going through all five of these green trash bins, you will receive the Cellblock Keys item. Obviously, you will be using this to unlock a certain part of the map.

Head to the lighthouse courtyard and ride towards the Main Prison doors. As you approach it, a cutscene will play out as the game tells you that you have completed the task of releasing the prisoner. A ghost will then fly out, but not before giving you access to a secret skating spot with a bunch of halfpipes across its length.

Waterpark Level

The Waterpark level has a very simple secret. All you need to do is grab the blue keys floating above a pipe to the right of where you first spawn in. Once you grab the keys, go down to the ground level and approach the arcade, which has a very easy to spot sign.

As you do this, a cutscene will play, revealing the inside of the arcade. Between all of the arcade machines is a relatively short rail that you can grind on.

Zoo Level

Finally, at the Zoo level, ignore the Royal Zoo sign and instead go to the right. Break through the roadblock and then destroy the wooden blockage with the “WARNING” and “NO ADMITTANCE” signs plastered all around them.

This will reveal an additional spot where you can do some more tricks. It is a fairly small extra location, and there is a collectible nearby that you can grab as well.

And that is pretty much all of the secret areas in the game that we are aware of. If you are looking for more secrets in the game, check out our guide on how to get the secret tape in the Foundry location in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remake as well. This is not covered by this guide as it is not found in a secret location, but that does not make it any less of a secret on its own!
