Madden has long since had a “Pay-to-Win” feature to the game – especially the last several years of installments and iterations as a huge AAA title. This did not entirely change throughout the duration of 2022, with Madden NFL ’22.

Those gamers that are entirely free-to-play, and don’t want to fixate on spending more real-world money to vamp up their team (because why should you?), are going to have a little more leverage against other players this time around – thanks to the new MUT ‘23 addition of the “Field Pass.”

The question you may then be asking is: how do you get free elites in Madden NFL ’23? Does it have to do with the “Field Pass?”

How to Get Free Elites in Madden NFL ‘23

Field Pass” is a newer Madden NFL ’23 feature that will function like the “seasons” in MUT ’22, but makes it easier this time to earn more in terms of rewards from being a more active player of the game.

If you’re familiar with other sports games, the “Field Pass” feature should sound similar. The “Field Pass” essentially functions like a traditional season pass, but players will not need to pay any extra money to unlock access to it, or pay to access different levels or ‘tiers.’

In “Field Pass,” players will need to earn XP through their matches. Upon earning XP, this can then be used to unlock rewards that are part of the pass. Every ‘tier’ in the field passes do yield some rewards – and this includes the likes of “free” Elites.

There are a number of different Field Passes, from ‘Headliners’ (built around a theme and rewards players most often with cards) to Season-based.

In order to gain XP and make progress in the corresponding Field Pass, you must complete ‘objectives’ in the game. These objectives can range from completing “Daily” Objectives for several consecutive days, completing Sets, or they can be more stat-based. This means attaining a certain number of passing yards total.

To check this out for yourself, go to the Main Menu, under ‘Play’ you can select “View All Field Passes” to see all of the available Objectives active for the set of Field Passes and the corresponding rewards to fulfilling each tier.
