Since there’s no legit way of requesting a trade in Madden 23’s Franchise mode, you have no means of switching teams unless your contract expires. Luckily, you can avoid this problem by making a solid contract in the first place.

In this guide, I’ll show you some tips that will help you make winning contracts.

Contract Guide | Top Tips For Making Contracts in Madden NFL 23

The very first method we’re going to use is the Trading for Contract method. Basically, this involves exploiting the system in a way that you can trade like crazy. At the same time, it lets you get a good player with very little cost.

Basically, what you’re going to do is to trade for a player with a huge signing bonus and still have several years left on his contract. For this example, we’ll be looking at A.J Brown who has a signing bonus of $43.1 million who we’ll be trading for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Since Brown also has $43.1 million guarantees left, if you trade for him, the Eagles will have to pay him that amount. As a result, you can get Brown at a very low cost without locking you into anything. What this means is that you can still trade him any time you want without any penalty.

Edit a Player’s Contract

Another tip for making a contract is to edit a player’s contract directly. This is actually something that Madden allows you to do for some reason. All you need to do is edit a player you want, then go all the way to the Contract tab.

From there, you can find sliders for Contract Length, Contract Year, Total Salary, as well as Signing Bonus. You simply have to adjust the sliders based on your liking. However, it seems that it only works if you’re a league commissioner.

Switch a Player’s Position to Punter

During the seventh week, a player will start negotiating his contract. However, if you want to get a contract for cheap, you can actually do this method. All you have to do is to switch his position to a punter on the sixth week, which is a week before he can get a chance to negotiate.

After that, simply start creating a contract and adjusting the rate just a little bit. He will then accept that offer and comments that it’s the offer he’s hoping for. Once you have the player signed, switch his position back to the original and you’ll then be able to get him for cheap.
