Unfortunately, this can happen in some cases, especially for beginners. After all, there are tons of stuff in Honkai: Star Rail that the common ones might be not-so-common for others.
The most likely scenario as to why you aren’t able to use certain items is because they’re locked. We’ll show you how to unlock them in this guide.
Unlock Locked Items in Honkai: Star Rail
You might notice that if you click on an item, it will give you a prompt stating “Item Locked”.

If you look closely, you’ll notice it has a locked icon in its bottom right corner.
Basically, in order to use it, you need to unlock it first. To do so, all you have to do is click on the locked icon as shown in the image above.
The icon might be small, which is why players missed it.
Once done, you’ll then be able to use it normally. This mostly happens with the Light Cones that you just obtained.
Most of the time, this will prevent you from Superimposing them since you won’t be able to superimpose a locked item.
