The Altar of Calanthia is a brand new 12-player raid you can take on in Throne & Liberty, but you’ll need to meet certain conditions to unlock it first. Due to it being supposed to be some of the most challenging content in the game now, this raid isn’t just available from the get-go. That said, it’s not actually too hard to unlock. In this guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to start the Altar of Calanthia raid.

Codex Tasks | Throne & Liberty: How to Unlock Calanthia Raid

The main requisite you need to clear to unlock the Altar of Calanthia raid is to complete the “Two Wings of Sylaveth I” and “Two Wings of Sylaveth II” Codex Tasks. You can find both of them under the Extra section of your Codex in-game. Of course, you’ll need to complete part 1 before you can start part 2. For both of them, you can just start tracking them from the Codex and the game will tell you what to do to complete them.

Raid Gate Location | Throne & Liberty: How to Unlock Calanthia Raid

Once you’ve completed the required Codex Tasks, you’ll need to travel to Herba Village in Talandre. You should see a purple Raid Gate icon on the northern part of the town there. Hovering over it should reveal that it’s the Calanthia’s Return raid. That’s your next destination!

Vanguard Setup

When you reach the Raid Gate portal, interact with it to bring up the full Altar of Calanthia raid interface. You can then start to look for a party (Vanguard) to join on the bottom right corner of the screen. The icon on the left is to find other players via Raid Matchmaking, while the icon on the right is to join the raid with a premade party.

Other Important Details About the Raid

Raid Concept Art

With the basics laid down, here are some other important things to note when entering the Altar of Calanthia raid:

  • There are two difficulties, Normal and Difficult. Normal requires players with 5000+ Combat Power, while Difficult requires 6000+ Combat Power. Even if you completed the prerequisite Codex Tasks, you can’t initiate the raid without the minimum Combat Power for each difficulty.
  • Raid Matchmaking will form two parties with set roles. These will each consist of 1 tank, 1 healer, and 4 DPS. Premade parties have no role limitations, however!
  • Raid Matchmaking can only be used for the Normal version of the Raid.
  • Speaking of matchmaking, the usual Party Matchmaking menu doesn’t let you queue up for the raid. You have to do it from the Raid Gate at Herba Village.
  • You can complete the raid and claim rewards once per week. You’re guaranteed at least 1 Heroic-grade weapon or armor. Difficult mode offers better rewards, such as giving you Selection Chests instead of random loot.
  • This raid rewards you with the new Entropy Shards and Chaos Prisms materials. These are key to obtaining and enhancing the new Heroic-grade equipment.

That’s all you need to know to unlock and start the Altar of Calanthia raid in Throne & Liberty! It’s still very early, so we’re sure that this challenging new raid is going to be pretty chaotic as players try to learn how to deal with it. Nonetheless, you can now get started trying to bring Calanthia down!
