The process to add scopes to your guns in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl isn’t quite as simple as just slapping the thing on your gun.

Instead, you’ll actually need to modify your weapon first. Most weapons you find while exploring don’t have the necessary upgrades to handle scopes, such as Scope Mounts and the like. Can’t have a scope without a proper mount for it, after all!

In this short guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know to add scopes to your guns in Stalker 2.

How To Add Scopes To Guns | Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl

The first thing you need to do to add scopes to most guns in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is to mod the weapon itself. For that, you’ll need to visit a Technician, which can usually be found in the settlements spread over the game’s world.

The first Technician you’ll meet is Lens over at Zalissya Bar. We’ve marked his location on the map above. If you’re still early in the game, he’s the easiest Technician to reach.

Once you talk with a Technician, select the weapon you want to add a scope to under the Upgrades tab. Then, select the weapon’s midsection and choose to add the Scope Mount Module.

The example above shows this process for the AKM-74U, but it might vary slightly for other weapons. For other guns, you’ll also need to get the Rail Upgrade from the Technician. What’s more, not every weapon can have a scope, so they don’t have either the Rail Upgrade or Scope Mount Module available.

Anyway, now that you modified your weapon, you can attach any compatible scope onto it from the inventory. Just select your scope and choose which gun to attach it to, or just drag the scope and drop it onto your gun. You can also remove scopes and other attachments by selecting your gun in the inventory.

Alternatively, you can use the quick attachment menu by pressing the T key (Keyboard & Mouse) or by pressing Up on the D-Pad (Controller). You can also remove the scope and any other attachments like this, in case you wish to swap to another one quickly!

So, there you have it, that’s how to add scopes to guns in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Note that Technicians offer more than upgrades, though, as they can also repair your weapons.
