You’ll need to go to the Chemical Tanks in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl to find the Soul Artifact as part of the “All That Is Left” side quest.

The Soul Artifact is a pretty unique one, at least when it comes to its lore. Apparently, this Artifact appears whenever a human body is ensnared by an anomaly. Whether or not this is true, though, nobody knows. But Lt. Mateus wants you to go find one anyway!

In this guide, we’ll tell you how to find the Soul Artifact in the Chemical Tanks with ease.

Get the Artifact by the Chemical Tanks | All That Is Left Quest Guide

The Chemical Tanks you need for the “All That Is Left” quest in Stalker 2 are in the southeastern corner of the Chemical Plant area. We’ve marked them for you on the map above.

Now, there are multiple Artifacts you can pick up here but the one you need to get is the Soul Artifact. Just like with every other Artifact in the game, you’ll need to make use of your Echo Detector (or any other Artifact Detector) to find and grab it. Thankfully, its spawn location seems to be static instead of random!

Once you reach the marked spot, look for a broken walkway near one of the Chemical Tanks. We know that sounds a bit non-descript considering the terrible conditions in the area… but you want to look for the one in the image above. You should notice a floating orb and a faint glow on the walkway.

To reach the walkway, you can jump onto the handrails on the ground level and then onto the Chemical Tank itself.

Then, walk along the tank’s rim to reach the walkway.

Check the southern end of the broken walkway to find the Soul Artifact. It’s right where the quest marker points to in-game. Grab it and be ready for a potential fight! Professor Zaretskyi will call you and ask to meet, but his crew will also get to the Chemical Plant and potentially attack you. That said, this seems to vary from player to player.

Returning or Keeping the Soul Artifact

Either way, jump off the walkway onto the ground below. You should see an open hatch leading to an underground section once you land. There are Mutants down there, so prepare yourself and then jump down.

You’ll find a dead soldier inside the hole. Loot the poor guy’s corpse and grab the PDA he has. This is an optional objective, but it will allow you to keep the Soul Artifact if you wish!

Now that you have both the Soul Artifact and the PDA, there are three potential outcomes for this quest depending on your choices. They are as follows:

  • Give the Soul Artifact to Prof. Zaretskyi – Zaretskyi will thank you and give you 3200 Coupons.
  • Give the Soul Artifact to Lt. Mateus – Mateus will give you 3500 Coupons for the Artifact.
  • Give the PDA to Lt. Mateus – Mateus will only give you 925 Coupons, but you get to keep the Soul Artifact for yourself. The Soul Artifact provides Medium Endurance and Medium Radiation.

Whichever choice you make is up to you. Either way, now you know how to get the Artifact at the Chemical Tanks for the “All That Is Left” quest in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl!
