“Ducal Disciple” is a Commendation you can take on as part of Act 3 of Season 18 in Sea of Thieves, tasking you with completing all of a special client’s requests.

While I won’t spoil this Commendation in the introduction, I can tell you that this one involves a fair bit of sailing. You’ll need to visit a few different islands in search of information, culminating with a visit to one of the new Ashen Garrisons!

Ready to set sail? Read on and I’ll tell you how to complete every step of this quest.

Prerequisites and Starting the Commendation

First of all, there are a few prerequisite Commendations you need to complete first. These are necessary to unlock the Ducal Disciple Commendation:

With those Commendations done, you’ll need to meet up with the Client for the “Ducal Disciple” Commendation. For that, enter the western cave in the Flintlock Peninsula (W-14) and talk to Duke there.

Now, as Duke says, he seems to only have half of a story based on Starbright Ix’s messages. To help get the full picture, you’ll need to find Belle’s Journals at 3 different Sanctuaries of the Banished. It’s time to set sail!

Cinder Islet

For the first of Belle’s Journals, you’ll need to sail over to Cinder Islet in U-14. This one’s pretty simple, since you just need to walk towards the Sanctuary on the island. The journal will be atop a rock by the Sanctuary’s entrance, as shown above.

Brimstone Rock

Next up, go to Brimstone Rock at Y-18. This time you’ll need to enter the Sanctuary of the Banished itself. Enter the Sanctuary and check the altar to your left as you go in to find Belle’s Journal.

Do note that you’ll need a Sanctuary of the Banished Key to open the Sanctuary. These are dropped by the Eternal Guards roaming the island, so you just need to find them and take them out for it.

Flame’s End

Last but not least, go to Flame’s End in V-19. Enter the Sanctuary of the Banished on this island and then check the rocks on the floor to your right. Belle’s Journal is atop one of those rocks.

Find the Scarlet Macaw

As Belle’s Journals reveal, your next goal is to find the Scarlet Macaw, which seems to be at the “Twinned Encamptments” Duke mentioned earlier. To simplify things here, you next need to go to the Servant’s Oath Garrison at V-10.

Once you get to the Garrison, you need to make your way to the Office Room in the lower level of the inner garrison. It’s right next to the Garrison’s Vault.

If you need help progressing through the Garrison, check out our guide on the Ashen Garrisons.

Inside the office, you’ll see a painting showing a red parrot and a black parrot. Interact with the painting to move it to the side, revealing a hole that contains a Mysterious Ancient Object. Pick it up and leave the Garrison.

Finishing Up

At this point, the only thing left for you to do is to return to Duke at Flintlock Peninsula. Deliver the Mysterious Ancient Object you picked up in the Garrison and you’re all done! You’ll get the Duke Shipmate Trinket as a reward.

So, that’s all you need to do to complete all of the client’s requests for the “Ducal Disciple” Commendation in Sea of Thieves! I hope this helped you save on a lot of sailing as you figure out where to find Belle’s Journals…
