The latest season of Sea of Thieves, which is Season 7, finally allows you to buy your very own ship. Not only that, but you also have a bunch of customization options that will help add a more personal touch to your vessel. That said, you need to have enough Gold just to buy one.

If you don’t know how to buy a ship in Sea of Thieves, then kindly check out the guide below.

How to Buy a Ship in Sea of Thieves

In order to buy a ship, all you have to do is log in to the game, click on Play, then click on Adventure. Here, you’ll be able to choose which ship you want to use for the session. In the same section, you’ll also find the My Ships option where you can pick the ship that you want.

There are 3 different types of ships for you to choose from. There’s the Sloop which costs 250,000 Gold and is designed for 2 players. Due to its small size, it’s perfect if you want a nimble ship and don’t mind too much about firepower.

The second option is the Brigantine which is available for 375,000 Gold. This one is meant for a 3-player group who are looking for a mid-sized ship that’s sort of a middle ground between the Sloop and the third option.

Then there’s the Galleon, a 4-player ship that costs 500,000 Gold. As a large ship, this one comes heavily armed with everything you need to attack other pirates and defend yourself from incoming attacks.

As long as you have enough gold, simply choose which ship you want to buy. After that, you have achieved Captaincy and are now the proud owner of the ship. This is regardless if you’re playing solo or with other players.

You even have the option to name your vessel for free. However, succeeding name changes after that will cost you 499 Ancient Coins.
