While playing through Act 8 of the campaign in Path of Exile, you’ll come across a brand-new vault that wasn’t there before. The Lunaris/Solaris vault was added to the game with the 3.25 patch released on the 26th of July. Unfortunately, this vault will be sealed shut, with a sealed door blocking your path

Our guide will be looking at what you need to do in order to open up this vault. Like most vaults in this game, the Lunaris/Solaris vault has some cool loot waiting for you inside it. Open up the vault and get rewarded with that loot.

How to Open NEW Lunaris / Solaris Door

When you get to the area in front of the door, you’ll notice there is nothing that you can do to open the door. This is because you will need to activate 2 switches that are found in different locations a little bit away from the vault. Once you activate the 2 switches, you’ll be able to open up the vault by stepping on the Lunaris/Solaris symbol on the floor in front of the vault door.

You can find both of the switches in Act 8 of the main campaign. Additionally, both of the switches are pretty easy to activate. All you need to do is step on them.

The location of the vault entrance

If you haven’t found the vault entrance yet, you can find it at the location shown above. The vault can be found during Act 8 of the game’s main campaign.

Alongside the Lunaris/Solaris vault, other new vaults have been added to the game with the latest update. For more vaults similar to this one, Check out our guide on how to open the new vault in Act 5 Reliqaury.

Switch #1

For the first switch, you will need to make your way to The Lunaris Temple. In this temple, you’ll be able to find the switch inside a room dedicated to Lunaris’ sibling Solaris.

Switch that you need to activate inside Lunaris temple

The image above shows what the room looks like and the switch you need to activate. You can activate the switch by simply stepping on it.

Once you’ve stepped on the switch, the game will let you know that the switch is activated by giving you the message “The gentle glimmer of dawn greets the rising moon”. You will see this message on the bottom left of your screen.

Switch #2

For the second switch, you will this time need to make your way to The Solaris Temple. You will find the switch you need to activate inside a room dedicated to Lunaris.

Switch that can be found at the Solaris temple

In terms of the room’s layout, it is very similar to the room dedicated to Solaris found inside The Lunaris Temple. Like before, you can activate the switch inside the room by stepping on it. The image above shows what the room looks like and the switch you need to activate there.

Similar to the previous switch, stepping on top of this switch will also give you a message indicating the switch has been activated. The message this time will be “A shadow passes briefly across the rising dawn”. Additionally, activating the switch will also lead to the whole room being lit up.

Opening the Lunaris/Solaris Vault Door

Once you’ve activated both of the required switches, make your way back to the vault entrance to open up the door blocking your way into the vault.

Stepping on the symbol to open up the vault

You can open the vault door by stepping onto the Lunaris/Solaris symbol on the floor in front of the vault.

The Twilight's End chest inside the vault

Inside the vault, you’ll find a Twilight’s End chest. Go up to the chest and open it up to access the loot inside it. The chest is the only thing of interest inside this vault, so once you’ve looted the chest, you can make your way outside the vault and continue your journey.
