With voice chat in Overwatch 2, you can communicate with your teammates while playing the game. This allows you to focus on the game without having to type in your message in the chat box. This is a pretty nifty feature since you can communicate on the go.

That said, as long as you have a microphone, you can turn on this feature in the game anytime you wish. Let’s find out how you can do so.

How to Turn On Voice Chat | Game Chat Guide in Overwatch 2

To turn on the voice chat feature, simply go to your menu and choose Options. Inside Options, head over to the Sound tab, and under the Sound tab, head over to the Voice Chat option. Here, go to the Channels section and enable group, team, and match voice chat.

You can set them to either On or Auto Join. After enabling them, make sure to set your Voice Chat Mode under Capture to either Open Mic or Push to Talk. If you want to be able to speak directly without having to push any buttons, then you can go with the Open Mic option.

On the other hand, if you only want to speak whenever needed, you can choose the Push to Talk option instead. When you choose Push to Talk, a new option will then appear that allows you to choose the hotkey for the function.

After that, simply head back to your game. With this, you can now speak with your teammates via voice chat while playing.

Other Voice Chat Functions

Each time you join a game in Overwatch 2, the game will automatically place you in the Team Voice Chat. This happens if you’re playing solo and are matched with other random players. Meanwhile, if you play in a group with your friends, then you will be placed in the Group Voice Chat channel.

You can also speak with other players in your team who are not part of your group. To do this, simply click the Join Team Chat button in the game to switch the channel.

You also have the option to mute other players. To do this, go to your menu and choose the Social option. From there, simply click on the speaker icon right next to the name of the player you want to mute or unmute. On the other, if you want to mute yourself, simply click the microphone icon right next to your name.
