It’s not a secret that the multi-tool is a very handy tool in No Man’s Sky. Not only will it allow you to gather resources more efficiently, but you can also use it as a weapon. That said, the very first multi-tool you can get in the game is a rather basic one.

So, if you’re planning to maximize your tool and make the most out of it, you’ll want to look for something better.

In this guide, I’ll show you how you can get a better multi-tool and maximize its overall effectiveness.

How to Maximize Your Multi-Tool in No Man’s Sky

The highest possible damage you can get with your multi-tool as of the current patch is 12K+. However, in order to achieve it, you need to use the best possible multi-tool in the game. To do this, you want to head over to your portal and enter the following glyphs:

Before heading inside the portal, make sure to disable Multiplayer in your settings first. Upon entering, you will then arrive at the Raturmind planet. After arriving at the planet, simply head straight and look for the Alien Multitool Base Euclid base. Head inside, check the weapon terminal, and claim your alien multi-tool.

After getting the weapon, you’ll notice that it comes in S-Class and has high damage potential. Not only that, but it has a total of 24 slots. All these only for 7.5 million units. Once you have obtained the weapon, the next step is to maximize it.

Maximizing the Tool

The next step is to obtain all of the necessary upgrades for the multi-tool. To do this, you want to head over to your portal and enter the following glyphs:

Upon arriving, head over to the X-Class merchant on the Outlaw station. Here, you can find all of the upgrades that you will need for your multi-tool. You want to buy the module upgrades for the weapons you’ll be placing on your multi-tool. Next, use the duplication glitch in order to make copies of the weapon upgrades that you bought.

Once you have the copies, what you’ll be looking for is a high Fire Rate stat. Basically, the higher the overall fire rate of your multi-tool, the more damage it can output. After getting as many module upgrades with as high of a Fire Rate as possible, your multi-tool’s damage potential should get to at least 12K.
