Expedition 17 Redux: Titan is a time-limited Expedition in No Man’s Sky.
Currently available until December 2nd, 2025, completing this Expedition will reward you with a very unique-looking ship: The Wraith. This cool ship looks like a living alien you can fly around in!
In this guide, we’ll help you complete every step of this Expedition as fast as possible.
Expedition 17 Redux: Titan Guide | No Man’s Sky
Starting Up

Like other Expeditions, you have two ways to start this Expedition. The first is to start a new save in Expedition mode, and the second is to visit the Space Anomaly in an existing save.
Just like with Expedition 2 Redux: Beachhead, we recommend using an existing save for this. It will allow you to store items in the Space Anomaly, which you can retrieve later on in the Expedition to speed things up.
On that note, here’s the shopping list of everything we recommend bringing:
- Condensed Carbon x120
- Chromatic Metal x25
- Paraffinium x100
- Dough x1
- Nutrient Processor
- Nutrient Ingestor
- Pressure Membrane
- Aqua-Jets Module
If you don’t have everything, don’t worry! Just bring as much as you can, it will help. Just in case, you can also buy some of these resources at Space Stations.
Either way, though, we’ll explain how to get everything during the Expedition itself anyway. So, you can make up for anything you’re missing by getting it later on.

That aside, make sure to claim rewards from Milestones as you complete them during the Expedition. They’ll give you resources and unlocks needed to progress further.
Also, feel free to use the Refiner as needed to get resources. Plus, don’t install Modules you don’t need, as you can sell them for Nanites.
Lastly, this guide will try to help you finish the Expedition as quickly as possible! However, since it’s a very long Expedition, it’s still going to take you about 2 hours at a minimum.
With that in mind, we also can’t go into full detail on everything, as it would make this guide far too long!
Nonetheless, without further ado, let’s get into the step-by-step process for the Expedition.
The First Steps

As soon as you start the Expedition, you’ll be on a planet. Here you’ll need to gather the resources required for your first warp:
- Oxygen x30 – Mainly obtained from plants.
- Ferrite Dust x150 – Mined from rocks.
- Condensed Carbon x60 – Mined from crystal minerals.

As you do this initial gathering, also explore the planet and look for 5 Storm Crystals. You can see an example of what they look like in the screenshot above. Grab 5 Storm Crystals to complete the “Bottled Lightning” milestone.

Claim the rewards from that Milestone to get a Pre-Packaged Haz-Mat Gauntlet and Pre-Packaged Advanced Mining Laser. Make sure to install both of them!

After that, look for Crystallised Helium Deposits on the planet. Mine them until you get 192 Crystallised Hellium for the “Hazardous Materials” milestone.

Once that’s done, follow the in-game marker to reach your Starship and complete the “Escape from Titan” milestone. Claim the rewards and install the Pre-Packaged Personal Refiner from this milestone.
At this point, it’s a good idea to try to get the “Winds of Change” milestone out of the way, since it’s a bit of an odd one!
Winds of Change

For this milestone, you’ll need to find a tornado. You can force one by first disabling multiplayer features under the Network Settings.
Then, enter and exit your Starship to save a Restore Point. Reload that restore point and a tornado should spawn somewhere near you.
Once it does, just walk up to the tornado and let it sweep you away to complete this milestone!
The Many Moon Landings

Now, you want to go into your inventory and craft 1 Metal Plating and 1 Hermetic Seal. Then refine 50 Ferrite Dust into 50 Pure Ferrite. Use these to repair your Starship’s Launch Thruster and Pulse Engine.
When your Starship is good to go, enter it and fly into space to leave the planet. This will complete the “Ignition” milestone!
As soon as you are flying in space, fly around and destroy a total of 30 Asteroids to complete the “Stone and Fire” milestone. Claim the blueprints from this milestone’s rewards.

Now, you will need to visit all of the moons in the current system. The easiest way to do this is to go into the Discoveries tab of the menu and click on the moons you haven’t visited yet. Mark them and then just follow those markers to fly straight to them.
When you get to a moon, land on it to exit your Starship. Make sure to discover some flora and fauna near your landing spot, as well. You need to discover 4 flora for “Biosphere” and 6 fauna for “Divergent Revolution.”
Also, if you didn’t bring the 100 Paraffinium, you can mine it at this point. You can get it easily on the Tiriap Prime Misty Moon.
Other than that, just continue visiting the moons until you visit all 5 of them to complete the “Children of Giants” milestone.
Space Station Time

Next up, visit the nearest Space Station. It’s time to do a bit of wheeling and dealing out in space!
First things first in the Space Station, sell your 5 Storm Crystals at the Trade Terminal. Then, buy the following resources:
- From The Trade Terminal
- Metal Platings x7
- Tritium – As much as possible.
- Ferrite Dust – As much as possible.
- Cobalt – As much as possible.
- From Traders at the Landing
- Magnetic Resonators x3
- Chromatic Metal – As much as possible.
If you started the Expedition without bringing in resources, also make sure to buy 2 Microprocessors and all the Salt available from the Trade Terminal.

With that done, also make sure to install the Launch Auto-Charger in your Starship. You get it from some of the milestones you’ve completed thus far.
Then, visit the Technology Merchant at the Space Station, too. Sell the Movement Module and Teleport Receiver Unit to them. Then purchase both Hyperdrive Modules and install them.
Lastly, craft 1 Antimatter Housing and 1 Antimatter. Use those to make 1 Warp Cell and recharge your Starship’s Hyperdrive.
Never Look Back

You are now ready to leave the starting system! To do that, go into the Expedition menu and track the “Rendezvous 1” milestone. Then warp to the system it marked on your Galaxy Map.
You’ll complete the “Never Look Back” milestone as soon as you warp. This will reward you with 3 Warp Cells, which should be enough to finish the Expedition as long as you made sure to install the Hyperdrive Modules we mentioned previously.

Also, you can now call and visit the Space Anomaly. If you stored resources there at the start, make sure to visit the Space Anomaly’s terminal to retrieve them!

With that done, continue following the “Rendezvous 1” milestone marker in-game.

While on that planet, also make sure to use Photo Mode to take a photo of the planet’s surface and complete the “The Chronicle: 1” milestone.

If you’re lucky enough, you should get an S-Class Scanner Module with a Fauna Analysis Bonus from that milestone.

Install that module and scan any big creature on the planet to complete the “Genetic Currency” milestone.

The last thing to do on this planet is to track the “Reliquary” milestone to mark Fossil Beds on the planet. Mine those to get 4 Ancient Bones and complete the milestone.
Next up, we’ll be going over how to get a lot of resources. If you already brought everything we mentioned in the Starting Up section, you can skip this next section! Otherwise, read on.
Resource Gathering Time

While you are still on the planet from “Rendezvous 1”, you’ll want to look for and collect all of the following resources:
- Mordite x153 – Mainly obtained from fauna. Process it into 51 Faecium using the Personal Refiner.
- Oxygen x150 – Mainly obtained from plants.
- Condensed Carbon x210 – Mined from crystal minerals.
- Heptaploid Wheat x1 – Harvest from a wild plant.
Once you’re done with all of that, refine Sodium Nitrate to get 25 Sodium. Then, craft 1 Hermetic Seal.

You’re now done with this planet, so it’s time to go into space and go to the Onfran High Energy Moon. It’s on the same system, so no need to warp or anything like that!
On the moon, you’ll need to gather the following resources:
- Gamma Weeds x400 – Found as a plant on the moon’s surface.
- Crystal Sulphides x4 – Found underwater, look for any water body near you.
- Cyto-Phosphate x80 – Found underwater, as before.

With that done, craft 1 Lubricant out of the Gamma Weeds. Then set up a Nutrient Processor and use it to make 1 Wild Yeast from Faecium and 1 Flour from Heptaploid Wheat. Process both of those together into 1 Dough.
You should now be on the same level as players who brought in everything from the Starting Up section!
Meals and Rendezvous 2

Next up, use the Nutrient Processor to cook the Dough into 1 Bread. Doing so will complete the “Field Logistics” milestone.

Then, continuing with the meal-oriented goals, install a Nutrient Ingestor to complete the “Meal in a Can” milestone.
Next, install the Aqua-Jets Module. Doing so will complete the “By Sky and Sea” milestone, which gives you a free Nautilon Platform.

With that out of the way, start tracking the “Rendezvous 2” milestone. As you did for the previous Rendezvous, just follow its marker. Warp to the system it marks, then visit the marked planet and location to complete it.
Claim the rewards from that milestone to get a Pressure Membrane blueprint. Install it to complete the “Under Pressure” milestone as well.
Then, take a photo while on the planet’s surface to complete “The Chronicle: 2“ too.
Deep Sea Adventures

While you’re still on the planet, place the Nautilon Platform you got earlier to spawn a Nautilon. Deconstruct the Nautilon Platform afterwards to recycle it, as you’ll need it again later.
Now, install the Pre-Packaged High Power Sonar from the “Under Pressure” milestone rewards onto your Nautilon. Use the High-Power Sonar from the Nautilon to scan for crashed freighters.

Then, return to your Starship and fly over to the spot where the Sunken Wreck Detected marker is. Once you get there, place the Nautilon Platform again and use it to summon the Nautilon.

Using the Nautilon, dive down towards the Sunken Wreck marker. You should get the “Crush Zone” milestone along the way by diving 1,001u below sea level.

When you finally reach the Sunken Wreck, interact with the freighter’s core terminal to complete the “Fathoms Below” milestone.

While you’re down at the bottom of the sea, look for purple glowing spots. Collect 3 Sea Glass from them to complete the “Hazard Pay” milestone.
Then, to finish up here, record 5 different aquatic creatures to complete the “Teeming With Life” milestone.
Rendezvous 3

Now that you’re all done with the underwater exploration, track the “Rendezvous 3” milestone and follow its marker to complete it. Same as always, really!
As before, also remember to take a photo on the planet’s surface to complete “The Chronicle: 3”, as well.

Once you’re done with that, craft 4 Ion Batteries and place a Colossus Geobay. Summon and drive the Colossus for a short while and you’ll complete the “Wheels of Titan” milestone.
With that done, make sure to refine 120 Condensed Carbon to get 240 Carbon. It’ll come in handy shortly.

Next up, track the “No Place Like Home” milestone. You’ll now need to set up a base on this planet, which requires the following at a minimum:
- Base Computer x1
- Timber Floor Panels x3
- Timber Walls x7
- Rounded Timber Roofs x3
- Timber Rectangular Door x1
Once you complete the base and “No Place Like Home”, you’re all done with this system!
Rendezvous 4 and Rendezvous 5

As before, you want to track the “Rendezvous 4” milestone and follow it to the marked system.
Once you get there, first visit the Outlaw Station and talk to the Salvage Dealer. Sell all of your uninstalled modules and you should get the 5000 Nanites to complete the “Quantum Bedrock” milestone.

With that out of the way, continue to the planet and location marked for “Rendezvous 4.” Then, as before, take a photo on the planet’s surface to complete “The Chronicle: 4” while you’re at it.

Next, go to the Discoveries tab in the game’s menu. Select any renamable discovery and change its name to complete the “Legacy” milestone.
After that, track “Rendezvous 5” and follow its marker as usual. Then, also as usual, take a photo on the planet’s surface to complete “The Chronicle: 5.”

At this point, the only thing that may be left is the “Surveyor of Worlds” milestone. For that, just walk a total of 7000 units and you’re all done! That’s the final milestone!
Finishing Up and Claiming Rewards

All that’s left at this point is to return to the Space Anomaly and use the Expedition Terminal. Select what you wish to keep to transfer to your normal save, if you started via an existing save.
Anything that you don’t keep will be automatically converted into either Units or Nanites, depending on what it is.
If you started the Expedition as a new save, finishing at the terminal will just convert your save into a normal save. So, you’ll get to keep everything you obtained so far!

Now that the Expedition is over, you can visit the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion in the Space Anomaly, too. Just talk to them to claim the Expedition’s rewards whenever you wish.
Phew, that was a long one, but that’s the end of our full guide for Expedition 17 Redux: Titan in No Man’s Sky. We hope this helps you complete this one quickly.
