There are various areas to explore and clear in Hollow Knight Silksong, and just like in the first game, there are stuff hidden all throughout different zones of the game that will give you passive bonuses or new abilities. in this guide, we will be showing you how to get the swift step ability, which is a dash move that you will actually need in order to proceed further in the game.

How to Unlock Swift Step (Dash) in Hollow Knight Silksong

In order to get the swift step ability, you must first reach the Deep Docks area of the map. Once here, you can now start hunting for the ability, which is essentially just the game’s sprint button that you can hold down.

Refer to the map image below to see where you have to go in the map. Along the way there, if you are coming from one of the benches, you will need to fight your way past a few screens of enemies and do some parkouring.

Eventually, you will find a shrine at the highlighted part of the map below. Interacting with this thing will play a brief cutscene as you unlock the swift step ability.
