The latest The Delicious Last Course DLC for Cuphead might seem too short, but it’s actually a perfect sequel to one of the best action games these past few years. According to community estimates, you can beat the game in under five hours as long as you’re good enough.

However, if you breeze through the new content in your playthrough, you might end up missing some secret stuff. One of them comes in the form of a secret boss fight that you have to unlock first. There’s even a huge chance that you didn’t even know this boss existed.

If that’s the case, then this guide will help you.

How to Fix Broken Relic and Solve Graveyard Puzzle in Cuphead DLC

To even start solving this puzzle, you need to purchase the Broken Relic first. You can buy it from Porkrind for one gold coin. His shop is right across the bridge on the right side of the paperboy. Once you have the item in your inventory, you can store it there until you come across the graveyard.

Now that you’ve purchased the relic, here are the steps you need to follow:

Travel to the Graveyard

You can reach the graveyard in a few different ways. You can either complete the Bootlegger Boogie and High-Noon Hoopla missions or the Gnome Way Out and Snow Cult Shuffle. But if you’re in a hurry and just want to breeze through the missions, you can just use the hidden path right behind Porkrind’s stall.

Eventually, you will come across a house with a tan roof. Once you do, go south below the bridge and make your way to the outside of the waterfall. Right next to it is the graveyard. Through this method, you can reach the area without having to kill any boss at all.

Solve the Graveyard Puzzle

After arriving at the graveyard, you can now proceed to solve the puzzle. Things can get a bit complicated at this part since there’s no universal solution for the puzzle. Upon your arrival at the graveyard, a detective ghost will meet you and inform you of a mystery that you should solve.

To solve this puzzle, you need to activate three out of nine graves in the correct order. This is determined by the position of the three climbing gears on the podiums right next to the shop. You need to talk to them in order to give you a hint as to what the correct order is.

The reason why there’s no universal solution is that each dialogue exchange will differ from one playthrough to another. So the best way to solve it is to write down the dialogue of each climbing gear. The clue for the puzzle will depend on the phrases they say. As these phrases change between playthroughs, here are some examples:

  • I always win! I am downright awesome!
  • Second Place? I’ve had it up to here with second place!
  • They think they’re better than me? They can stick it right up their nose!
  • There’s no way the others could’ve caught me! I left ’em in the dust.
  • I left downtown in a hurry, and forgot my gear. I’ll settle for second.
  • It’s downright criminal they let these other jokers compete.
