Best Medicine Perks to Pick in Bannerlord

In Bannerlord, combat is not the only important thing you have to learn. Each fight is always associated with injury, and mending the wounds of your units should be a priority.

Luckily, that’s a lot easier to do with the right Medicine perks. There are quite a few to choose from, so we’ll going to cover the best ones instead. Let’s get started!

What Medicine Perks to Pick in Bannerlord

The health of your troops is actually one of the most essential stats that you must focus on. After all, without your troops, any attacks or ambush won’t be possible.

As you progress through the game, you will have to upgrade your perks in different aspects, and the medicine perks are responsible for keeping all your troops alive for a longer period of time.

That said, here are the best perks you should get:

Preventive Medicine

As you earn EXP, you will have to choose first between Preventive Medicine or Self Medication. For this one, choose Preventive Medicine.

If you look at their descriptions, there’s certainly a big difference between these two. Preventive Medicine gives you +5 hit points and +30% HP recovery after each battle. Meanwhile, Self Medication grants a +30% healing rate and +2% combat movement speed.

Looking at the additional stats, the +5% hit points from Preventive Medicine can actually be a lifesaver, especially in situations where both you and your enemies are in low health.

Also, you just can’t say no to the additional 30% recovery after each combat.

Walk It Off

For the next upgrade, pick Walk It Off over Triage Tent.

What’s good about this perk is the +15% healing rate when moving on the campaign map and the +10 hit points recovery after each offensive battle.

This is way better than Triage Tent’s +30% healing rate when stationary on the campaign map and -5% food consumption for besieged government settlement.

If you think about it, your character will always be moving around, which is why choosing Triage Tent would be useless.

Doctor’s Oath

Next would be Doctor’s Oath versus Sledgers.

Doctor’s Oath grants you a skill that is also applicable to the casualties from the enemies alongside an additional 5 hit points.

Meanwhile, Sledgers reduce the party speed penalty from the wounded by half and an additional 15 hit points to the mounts in your party.

Given this information, you can clearly say that Doctor’s Oath would be the better choice.

Best Medicine

For the next perk, you’d want to choose Best Medicine instead of Good Lodging.

With this perk, you will get an additional 15% healing when your party morale is over 70. This is way better than the additional 20% healing while resting in settlements from Good Lodging.

The reason is that maintaining high morale is actually pretty easy than waiting for your units to get fully healed after resting.

Siege Medic

Both Siege Medic and Veterinarian are actually pretty useful. With the Veterinarian perk, you receive a 30% chance of recovering your horse while Siege Medic focuses on your troops.

Of the two, Siege Medic is still the better one.

The reason is that it can allow your troops to get wounded rather than get killed. Knowing that you will have to do a lot of sieges, this would help you reduce the chance of losing troops.

Pristine Streets

Once you reach the sixth perk, you have to choose between Bush Doctor or Pristine Streets. Go for Pristine Streets.

The reason why Pristine Streets is way better than Bush Doctor is that it gives you an additional 20% party healing rate while waiting in towns.

Compared to Bush Doctor’s +20% party healing while waiting in villages, the former would be more efficient.

Health Advice

Choose Health Advice over Perfect Health.

If we look at the definition, Health Advice is indeed much more efficient as it can recover troops from dying due to old age. Also, the morale won’t be affected by your wounded troops.

Physician of People

Here, you will have to choose between Physician of People and Clean Infrastructure. It’s best to pick Physician of People as it gives you an additional 30% chance of recovering from lethal wounds for your tier 1 and 2 units.

Fortitude Tonic

The ninth perk will be between Cheat Death and Fortitude Tonic. Compared to Cheat Death, Fortitude Tonic would be more useful as it gives your heroes additional 10 hit points.

Battle Hardened

Lastly, you want to choose Battle Hardened instead of Helping Hands.

With this perk, you get an extra 25 experience to all wounded units after a battle. This is much better than the additional 2% troop recovery rate for every 10 troops in your party from the Helping Hand perk.
