Carrying out an ambush to stop a siege is one of the most questioned activities in Bannerlord. This is where you form a group of troops to attack the assaulting side and stop the siege.
However, a lot of players are confused about how to properly do this and why they can’t do this themselves. This guide is designed to solve that.
The goal of ambushing the assaulting enemy is to stop the siege. As shown in the picture above, a battering ram is being destroyed by several units to stop its progress.
To ambush the right way, you have to consider the following things first:
The first thing you have to do is make sure that you are located inside the besieged settlement. In other words, you need to be on the defender’s side to stop the assaulting side to get to your settlement.
Aside from that, the siege camp preparations must be done before you can start the ambush. You can check this through the loading bar that you can see on the assaulting side.
Once the loading bar is full, you can proceed to the ambush. The reason is that the enemy team is not yet done constructing the siege and preparing all the units to deploy.
Cooldown
A siege has a 24-hour cooldownin-game. You can’t start an ambush if the assaulting team is still in cooldown. Trying to start an ambush will trigger a prompt saying that “The enemy is alert, you cannot harass their siege camp right now“.
As such, you must first wait until they are fully ready before you defend.
Aside from all these, you can’t start an ambush if your character is currently wounded. Also, you can’t harass another siege camp if another enemy party has been attacking your camp.
