Beacon Stations are structures in the game that can transmit sonar signals over long distances. However, before you can use them, you need to activate them first. With the latest update to Barotrauma, a total of three new Beacon Stations were added.

In this guide, I’ll show you how you can activate them.

How to Activate the New Beacon Stations in Barotrauma

As with the other Beacon Stations in the game, you will first need to head over to the location of the new station. Once you arrive, you’ll notice that the only way to get inside the station is through a locked door on top of the station.

However, since the new stations have a new layout, solving them will require a different approach. Unlike previous stations that require you to cut through walls via a plasma cutter, the new ones require a bit of problem-solving.

For this one, the door is controlled by wires and/or buttons, and you need to repair it first in order to open it. To start, simply follow these steps:

  1. Click on the button near the door, and then drag the blue wire to your hotkey bar.
  2. Click on the door and connect the blue wire to Toggle_State.
  3. Click on the button once again and connect the blue to Signal_Out.
  4. Once you’re done, it will then open the door.

Draining the Water

Head inside the station and go all the way down until you reach a room with a saltwater reactor along with a handful of batteries.

You need to repair all of the four batteries in the room. Just make sure you have a level 55 Electrical Engineering skill, otherwise, you won’t be able to repair them.

Then, make sure that you connect the batteries to the Power slot in the lower junction box. Also, you should also connect the lower junction to the upper one. Lastly, connect the upper junction box to the junction box on the upper floor. This will transfer the power to the rest of the station.

After repairing the batteries, you’ll then notice a button and a lever near the On/Off sign. Simply press the buttons to turn on the water intake valve and pull the lever to activate the reactor. Then, start the pump and increase the pumping speed to drain the water inside the station.

Head over to the upper part of the station and look for the junction box. Then, all you need to do is make sure that the navigation terminal is connected to it. Once you’re done, repair the terminal right next to the junction box.

After repairing the terminal, interact with it and simply pull the lever to activate the sonar.
