These items can be elusive and sometimes difficult to find on their own. Follow along with this guide as we cover guaranteed methods, farming locations, how to use them, and how to complete the quest.
How to Get the Power Rod
The guaranteed way to get a Power Rod is by recycling the Snap Hook. The Snap Hook is a legendary item you earn from the Lost in Transmission quest. Once you finish the mission, the Snap Hook will appear in your inventory automatically.
If you did not do this quest or got rid of the Snap Hook before you knew its value, you can also obtain one from the Harvester Event by defeating the Queen inside the Harvester. When you recycle the Snap Hook, you’ll receive a Power Rod every single time. Making this a 100% guaranteed method for completing the Tribute to Toledo quest.
Just be sure not to sell or discard the Snap Hook before recycling it, or you’ll lose your guaranteed Power Rod. That said, you can get the Snap Hook randomly as loot too, especially in key-locked rooms. But it’s better to not waste the guaranteed one, right?

If you want extra Power Rods, there are a few key areas that have a higher drop rate for them:
Dam Battlegrounds Map – Power Generation Complex:
Travel to the metal bridge area on the Dam map and enter the Power Generation Complex. Turn right twice until you reach a section filled with power circuits and generators. Breach these panels for a chance to collect Power Rods.
In fact, we recommend looting the entire area as thoroughly as you can. Most containers in there have a chance to contain Power Rods, it’s just that the generators have a higher chance overall.
In particular, look for Security Breach Containers. However, they require the Security Breach Talent to open, but often contain valuable high-tier loot, and an off chance for more Power Rods.
Spaceport Map – Underground Tunnels:
Head to the tunnels on the Spaceport map. You can access these, similar to the Headhouse area on the Blue Gate map, by taking a zipline underground. These are high-activity hot zones, where you may find a lot of enemies, both human and ARC alike. Breaching the power circuits along the walls offers a high drop chance for Power Rods, while containers within the tunnels provide a smaller but still possible drop rate.
Craft the Power Rod
As a last resort, you can actually craft a Power Rod too. For that, you’ll simply need the Refiner bench at level 3 and the following materials:
- ARC Circuitry x2 – Random drop when looting broken ARCs.
- Advanced Electrical Components x2 – Rarely found in Electrical areas, such as the we’ve mentioned before in this guide. Alternatively, you can craft them at the Refiner once it’s at level 2.
Crafting the Power Rods is a good idea if you’re having bad luck finding them as loot or you already got rid of the guaranteed Snap Hook.
How to Use Power Rods
Certain locked doors across ARC Raiders can only be opened with Power Rods. One example sits right next to the Power Panels inside the Power Generation Complex. Insert a Power Rod here to gain access to a loot-filled room containing rare gear and materials. This demonstrates the value of these Power Rods.
Apart from that, you can also use the Power Rod to craft certain items, such as Heavy Shields and Snap Hooks. But, of course, remember the quest from Celeste! We recommend making sure to keep at least one Power Rod so you can bring it to her.
Turning in the Quest
And after you obtain a Power Rod, you just need to extract with it (or have it in your inventory in the case of completing a mission where it was given) to complete the mission. I suggest you put it in your Safe Pocket to ensure you keep the item in case of death. Once returning to Speranza, turn in the quest to Celeste, where you will be rewarded with some materials.
