The Precinct can be a fairly tough game at times, but you can alleviate its difficulty by making sure that you unlock the best skills first of all.
There are 4 distinct skill trees in this game: Physical, Combat, Policing, and Vehicle. While each skill tree is fairly small, their linearity means that you need to really focus on which upgrades you pick when leveling up. This is especially true as you progress through the game and the gangs start getting more violent!
To help you out, this guide will tell you the best skills you should unlock first of all.
Best Skills to Unlock First | The Precinct
Here are our recommendations of the best skills to get, in the order you should get them:
Max Health+ (Physical Tier 1) – You can get this as you first upgrade in the game; it gives you a whopping 50% more Health. It’s simple, but you can’t go wrong with extra Health!
Max Stamina+ (Physical Tier 2) – Like Max Health before it, this is a basic but must-have upgrade. It gives you 35% more stamina!
Ammo Belt (Combat Tier 1) – Gives you 50% more ammo with all of your carried weapons, which becomes a must once you start dealing with gangs.
Commandeer (Vehicle Tier 2) – Allows you to use any vehicle in the city, no matter if it’s parked or occupied. Great to have in case your police car gets wrecked during a chase, and it’s just fun to use.
Timed Breath (Physical Tier 2) – Gives you the Timed Breathing ability, which you can use to regain stamina even while you sprint. A must-have for chasing suspects on foot.
Fast Recovery (Physical Tier 3) – Makes your Health restore naturally 50% faster, which can really come in clutch for surviving encounters.
Intimidating Order (Policing Tier 2) – Increases the range and effectiveness of your voice orders by 35%. Can be really helpful to stop criminals before they think of attacking or fleeing!
Tracking (Policing Tier 4) – Admittedly, this is a skill you’ll get fairly late, as it’s deep in the Policing skill tree. Nonetheless, you should go for it once you have all the previous skills! It lets you stay aware of a suspect’s location for 50% longer when they get out of sight. Crucial for when you have more than one fleeing suspect.
That’s our recommendation on the best skills to unlock first in The Precinct. Now go out there and clean up Averno City!
Gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
