GTA 6 Confirmed: Everything We Know So Far

The GTA franchise has collected quite the following over the years. Since its first game release in 1997, this has spawned many titles on PC, Consoles and Handheld devices over the years.

With the success of GTA 5 nine years ago, we have been waiting for GTA 6 to go into the works. The Game has been confirmed a reality by the announcement earlier this year by Rockstar North and Take 2 Interactive and here is what we know about GTA 6, So far.

Everything We Know About GTA 6

Production for GTA 6 has been going on and off since 2014. Initially, the plan for the next GTA instalment would feature 4 playable characters and a story that spans 3 different American cities. That would certainly justify 10 years of game development but Rockstar has now changed its plan to scale down to just 1 city and focus on creating as much detail for the area.

More Interior Levels

What sets GTA above the rest is its game setting. The GTA 6 world would be denser in content. Unlike other GTA games before this, GTA 6 plans to create more interior levels in the city environment.

With that in the works, we can expect to enjoy exploring buildings and rooms that are more detailed and every place feels authentic. With more interior locations to explore, Rockstar would be able to achieve just that.

Every Rockstar Team is hands-on in the Development

This was confirmed by Rockstar themselves. The new GTA 6 is in full production with every Studio in the Rockstar Family directly involved in the game’s creation. In previous GTA Titles, Rockstar North Usually does the game development.

GTA 6 However would require more resources that only one or two studios could not handle. One of their other games, 2 Red Dead Redemption took all 6 studios to develop and it looks like this would hold the same with the new GTA 6.

The Jokes Would Be More tasteful

Rockstar’s Franchise has always been a loud crass attempt to satirize American Life and Pop Culture. This has created a lot of controversies over the years and Rockstar plans to have fewer offensive jokes. This would be interesting to watch out for. After all, Rockstar Games are famous for their loud and crass humour.

Two Playable Characters and the First Female Protagonist

The initial development plan was for 4 playable characters. This time Rockstar has confirmed that the game would have male and female playable characters in the game.

The pair are reportedly inspired by Bonny and Clyde and one of the characters is described as a Latina woman. Other rumours are floating about the internet about details on the 2 playable characters but we will have to wait and see once Rockstar sets an official announcement.

Vice City Setting

Confirming a long-standing rumour, Rockstar confirms that the world would be in Miami and “Surrounding Areas”. the game will not be in the 80’s setting but on a modern take on Vice City.

Live Service Elements and DLC Cities

GTA will feature one city on the game’s release, and Rockstar plans more cities through downloadable content. This would work well with the game having online play and cities and quests would be added via DLC.

2024-25 Release Date

The Developers have recently announced that the game could take at least 2 more years to develop. That would put GTA 6 release date either in 2024 or 2025. Here is everything we know so far about GTA 6.
