Throne & Liberty incentivizes exploration, even if it is not necessary to do so in order to reach the endgame. Some of the optional exploration-related content involves completing the codex, and in this guide, we will be showing you how to complete “For the Ally’s Rests” within the Daybreak Shore region. It’s a really easy one, but it’ll require a bit of patience depending on when you do it!

For the Ally’s Rests Guide | Sailor’s Keepsakes

This one, as you may already know by now, is done at the shipwreck to the southwest of the waypoint in this zone. You can do this in any order, but I’ll go through them one by one with a specific pathing in mind to make it a bit easier to follow along.

NOTE: I already finished this ages ago, so there won’t be any markers in my examples. If you favorite the exploration quest, you should be able to see each keepsake as a light blue marker on the map too.

Keepsake #1 – Inside the Wreckage

The first one is just at the bottom. You just need to look within the wreckage, specifically at the southeastern corner. There, you should find the first keepsake, which is in a bag on the ground (this is what all of them will look like).

Just approach it and pick it up so we can proceed with the next one. After grabbing it, back out of the wreckage and exit further to the southeast so you can see the side of the crashed ship.

Keepsake #2 – Back of the Ship

Once you step out of the wreckage as instructed above, you should be able to see a blue grapple point that you can fling yourself up to. Use it to get to the back half of the wrecked ship.

From here, run to the very back of the ship and you should see the next bag holding a keepsake on top of a small elevated platform. Grab it and prepare to glide to the other part of the ship for the next one.

Keepsake #3 – Front of the Ship

From the back of the ship, you will want to glide to the front half of the wreckage. If you miss, just go back to the blue grapple spot from earlier and try again. There is also an orange grapple spot on the other side of the wreckage that you can use, but we are saving that for the last keepsake.

Once you make it to the front half of the crashed ship, make your way to the bow. Right before the bowsprit (the long pole in front of the ship), you should find the next keepsake just sitting out in the open. Grab it and go back down to the beach to prepare for the last piece.

Keepsake #4 – On the Leaning Mast

Next, go to the side of the ship on the north (the opposite side of where we started for Keepsake #2). There, you will find an orange grapple point that will launch you into the air. See the image below for reference.

This one might take you a few tries as the game has a very janky gliding and movement system. Basically, you want to land on the leaning mast, where the next keepsake is perched up on. You could try climbing up normally from the base of the mast too, but this is much quicker.

If you fall off, glide and immediately land straight down to avoid damage. I’ve seen a few people die to fall damage here, and you won’t want to end up like that. It’s quite an embarrassing death.

Final Keepsake – RNG Rears its Head

Finally, to get the last Sailor’s Keepsake, you will need to kill Sea Crabs nearby. There are a lot of them here in Daybreak Shore, and they have a relatively quick respawn rate. This step is purely dependent on RNG.

Your mileage may vary depending on how fast you can kill them and how lucky you are in general. It took me just a couple of kills to finish this step when I did it, but some have reported that it took them much longer. Supposedly, the drop rate is really low, so good luck.

BONUS: Just beside the ship, near the orange grapple spot, is a spawn point for a Pirate King’s Chest Crab. Killing one of these is a requirement for one of the other codex entries of this location. If it spawns on this spot, make sure to get kill credit for it! This doesn’t drop a keepsake, though, as far as I know.

Final Step – Delivering the Keepsakes

Once you have all of the Sailor’s Keepsakes with you, all that is left is to wait for night time and deliver them to the ghost named Ruber. He will appear on the front half of the wreckage at night, and only at night.

So, check the in-game time by hovering over the icon on the upper right corner of your screen, right at the edge of the minimap. If you’re a long time away from night, I recommend doing something else for the time being. Try fishing at the beach if you only need to wait a few minutes!

When night time rolls around, you will need to wait for a bit, as Phantom Ruber will not show up immediately. He will pop in at his usual spot after a few seconds, or maybe even a minute or two at most.

Once you turn in all of the keepsakes to Phantom Ruber, you are officially done with this part of the exploration quest chains under the Daybreak Shore region! There are more to complete in this area, so keep on exploring to finish the rest of the optional objectives here!

If he’s not busy working or writing on his personal blog, there’s also a non-zero chance that you stumble into him in pretty much any multiplayer game that has SEA or OCE servers. He’s pretty good at anything unless it’s a fighting game, in which case you’d probably body him.
