While exploring the Rumbling Wastes area in World of Warcraft War Within, you’ll most likely run into Moira Thaurissan, a very important NPC in the latest expansion. There are several different quests in the new expansion that are linked to Moira, one of them being the Fearbreaker quest.

In order to complete the “Fearbreaker” quest you will need to slay Skardyn and save Earthen in the Rumbling Wastes with Moria Thaurissan. This is a pretty difficult quest to complete, especially if you are going through it for the first time. Our guide will be looking at the best way to approach and complete the “Fearbreaker” quest.

Fearbreaker Quest Guide

To find and accept the quest, you will need to get to Moira Thaurissan in the Rumbling Wastes area.

Map location of where you need to go to access the quest

The map above shows the exact location where you can find Moira. To complete this quest, you will need to find and evacuate 4 Earthen Holdout groups inside the Rumbling Wastes. While doing this, you will also need to kill the Skardyn you encounter. There is also an optional objective attached to this quest of using Fearbreaker. So for this guide, we will be looking at both the main and the secondary objectives.

When looking at how the quest plays out, the Fearbreaker quest is pretty similar to the “Keepers Aid” quest. If you haven’t completed that quest yet, make sure you check out our guide on it.

Evacuating the Earthen and Eliminating the Skardyn

The best way to approach this quest is by simultaneously completing both of your main objectives. So while you are evacuating the Earthen from their holdouts, try to kill as many Skardyn as you can.

Icon you need to click on to evacuate a Holdout

The game will provide you with the location of each Holdout that you need to evacuate by marking their locations on your minimap. You can evacuate a Holdout by going up to it and clicking the small icon next to the Holdout. The image above shows the icon you need to click on. Evacuating a Holdout will take around 2 seconds, and you should only start the animation once you’ve cleared the Skardyn near the Holdout.

Indicators to help you keep track of your progress

You will also be given indicators to help you keep track of your progress. On the top right of your screen, you will be able to see a bar with a percentage in it. This bar will fill up as you kill the Skardyn found within the area. You will need to fill this bar up to 100% to complete the Skardyn part of the quest. There will also be an indicator here that will show you how many Holdouts you’ve evacuated and how many are left.

Objective you get after completing the main quest objectives

After you’ve completed both of those objectives, you will get another objective of returning to Shadowvein Point with Moira Thaurissan. The game will once again provide you with a marker on your map to show you where you need to go.

Rewards for completing the Fearbreaker quest

Once you get to Shadowvein Point, the quest will be complete and you can claim your rewards for completing it. Completing the Fearbreaker quest will earn you 46 Gold Coins, 80 Silver Coins, and 1150 XP.

Using Fearbreaker(Optional Objective)

Alongside the quest’s main objectives, you will also have a secondary objective of using Moira Thaurissan’s Fearbreaker skill. This is an optional objective, so you don’t have to use the skill to complete the quest. That said, if you are someone who hates missing content, you can complete this objective fairly easily.

Icon you need to click on to cast the Fearbreaker skill

To perform the Fearbreaker skill, all you need to do is press the icon in the middle of your screen. The image above shows the icon you need to press. You only need to use the Fearbreaker skill once to complete the objective, making it very easy to complete. The skill is also pretty useful during combat, so using it will also make the overall quest much easier for you.
