WoW War Within: Thunderhead Butt Quest Guide

The War Within expansion pack of WoW comes packed with new quests for you to complete. Thunderhead Butt is one of those new quests.

The main objective of this quest is to accompany Durzan on his journey to the peak to make sure he is safe. Deep down, you will be hoping your greatest question is answered when he reaches the summit. Without further ado, let’s get started on this quest!

Guide on the Thunderhead Butt Quest

First make your way to Rambleshire which is located on the Isle of Dorn. In particular, you need to go to the location marked on the map below. The waypoint for it is “/way Isle of Dorn 58.78 30.20 Thunderhead Butt“.

Upon getting there, talk to Rooktender Lufsela to accept the quest.

As mentioned earlier, the objective of this quest is to keep Durzan safe on his journey. So stay close and keep following him. You will be attacked by mobs a couple of times on this short journey. Just defeat them and keep moving forward.

Once Durzan reaches his destination, a Shadow Vanguard Brute will spawn along with Shadow Vanguard Soldiers. After defeating them, Durzan will jump to the top of the cliff and your objective will be done.

Now return to the quest starting location and talk to Rooktender Lufsela to finish the quest and receive your rewards which includes 180 Resonance Crystals and Council of Dornogal Commendation.

Bug Fixes

Some players have reported that this quest is bugged. If you experience a bug during the quest, abandon it and restart your game. After that, try again. If simply doing this does not work for you then try the method mentioned below.

Accept the quest and then fly ahead of Durzan. Complete all the fights without Durzan. Once you are done, return to Durzan and accompany him like usual. This should stop the quest from bugging out.
