Like most recent games in the series, Mortal Kombat 1 introduces plenty of playable guest characters. The popular DC Comics character, Peacemaker, is the latest one to join the roster.
All characters in Mortal Kombat 1 have their own unique movesets and specials. In this guide, we will be focusing on Peacemaker by looking at the various gameplay elements related to him.
Peacemaker Combat Guide
Peacemaker’s basic moves and specials mirror a lot of what he does in the TV show. Instead of speed, Peacemaker has a very bruise-like playstyle, focusing a lot on landing hard-hitting blows.
Other than that, Peacemaker also has a good balance of damage at different ranges. He can deal high damage at close ranges, but alongside that, he also has good ranged abilities and tools that can help him gap-close.
Combos
Peacemaker’s combos rely a lot on him doing a lot of damage with not a lot of hits. Most of his basic combos are just 2-3 different attacks that can help start more devastating longer combos. Even then, most of his combos are still a bit short when compared to other characters.
Special Moves
Peacemaker’s special moves utilize the different weapons at his disposal.
For his gun, he has a basic zoning ability that simply fires the gun at your enemy. The projectile you fire is fast and does decent damage, but it can easily be dodged by crouching.
Most of his specials are based around the helmet that he wears. Among these moves, one of the best is his Sonic Boom move, which launches your opponent in the air. this is great for starting or extending combos. Other than that, he also has a great gap-closing ability and an ability that makes him immune to projectiles.
Strengths
Peacemaker’s main strengths lie in his short to mid-range combat. His high damage makes him a devastating force when close to him and he can easily take away a lot of the opponent’s health bar.
He has excellent anti-zone tools that help him close in on zoners. He is good against characters like Quan chi or Reiko.
Weaknesses
Peacemaker’s biggest weakness has to be his lack of long-range damage. He has one good zoning ability, but it can be dodged very easily by simply crouching. This makes him bad at closing out rounds as most enemies will be able to come at him.
Characters like Raiden and Skorpion are strong against Peacemaker as they can take advantage of his weaknesses.
Kameos
Kameos in Mortal Kombat 1 are a great way to add to your character’s strength. The best Kameos to go along with Peacemaker are Kano, Lao, and Skorpion. You can get a bit creative with Kameos, and always choose the ones that you like.
When playing Peacemaker, your main focus should be on using 2 to 3 basic attacks and specials together. Unlike characters like Liu Kang who want to perform a ton of attacks, Peacemaker focuses more on doing more damage with a few attacks.
