Monster Hunter: World has dozens of unique monsters for you to hunt, with its Iceborne expansionadding a dozen more on top of that! They all vary in difficulty, of course, as you might’ve guessed.
Facing monsters like the mighty Ancient Dragon Fatalis will make you feel like you’re playing a completely different game compared to when you were a wee hunter fighting your first Great Jagras.
If you want to know how strong all monsters are, our difficulty tier list aims to rank all monsters based on how tough they are to hunt down!
Monster Difficulty Tier List
Hardest: Alatreon, Fatalis, Ancient Leshen, Lunastra
Monsters are ranked within their own tiers, too, from hardest to easiest. It’s not 100% exact, of course, especially because everyone will have their own opinions on monsters’ strengths!
One of the most interesting things most players will notice on this tier list is that we’ve placed Alatreon higher than Fatalis.
While Fatalis is definitely one of the hardest monsters to deal with in the game, a lot of that has to do with the time limit for the hunt.
You’ve got less time to hunt Fatalis than most other monsters, so you have to play much riskier. This leads to players making mistakes, despite some of Fatalis’ attacks not being that difficult to deal with.
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
