Survival: Fountain of Youth is a new survival game that tasks you with surviving on a deserted Caribbean island in the 16th century.
Your ship will wreck and you will wash afloat on an island with seemingly no other humans around. Your only goal is to survive, hoping that you can return to civilization one day.
Survival is no easy feat on this island, either. But we’re here to make things easier! In this guide, we’ll give you tips and tricks to help you survive.
Gather Everything
As is tradition for survival games, you will need to find materials to craft pretty much anything in the game.
Make sure to gather everything you find as it will all come in handy eventually. However, keep in mind that you have limited inventory space.
We particularly recommend picking up coconuts early on as they’re a good source of food and water.
Also, make sure to get a variety of food and herbs while exploring as they all have different benefits. Plants are particularly useful for making herbal remedies to heal the various afflictions you can have.
Stay Fed and Hydrated
Having your food and water gauges above 60 will grant you a buff when you sleep. Simply sleep when you’re well-fed and hydrated.
You will be Energized the next morning which will grant you some health regeneration.
As said in the previous tip, coconuts are an amazing resource early on because they sate both your hunger and your thirst.
Make sure to get yourself well-fed and get a good night’s sleep. This is key to being healthy, just like in real life!
Set Down Camp
Build and place a campfire as soon as you can to unlock lots of crafting recipes and be a source of warmth during cold nights.
We recommend setting your first camp at the starting beach. Look for a ship crate on the beach and set your camp close to it to allow you to use the crate for storage.
You can also settle down inside caves later on. Caves are amazing because they will protect your campfire from the rain!
Use Cartographer’s Trees
These special trees are incredibly tall but can be climbed with rope. On top of that, they are fantastic spots for mapping.
Gather some coal and rope, then find one of these trees. Map the surrounding area and you will even get to see what animals and resources are nearby! This is extremely useful.
You can also find bird nests atop the branches of these trees. Loot these nests to get bird eggs which are a great food resource.
Get a Bag
Storage management can get quite annoying quickly. To solve that, you want to craft a bag as soon as you can.
The first one you can get is the Portable Box made out of leaves. You will need 2 Long Sticks, 2 Wide Leaves, and 2 Narrow Leaves.
It’s basic but it will let you carry 10 more weight units. You can craft even better bags later on, and we highly recommend that you do so ASAP!
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
