The Actuation Rod is a unique tool in Terraria that allows you to trigger Actuators from a distance without having to use any wires.

Using the actuators and the Actuation Rod together, you can make a variety of unique setups such as traps and secret bases!

If you wish to get this rod and start making the most of actuators, this guide will show you the easiest way to get it.

You can obtain the Actuation Rod exclusively through crafting. There are no other ways to get it besides obtaining the materials and crafting it.

For that, you will need the following materials:

  • 50 Actuators
  • 10 Wire
  • 10 Iron or Lead Bars

While Iron Bars and Lead Bars are easy to acquire while exploring, you will need to find the Mechanic NPC to buy Actuators and Wire.

You can find the NPC within the Dungeon, which is a large underground maze that appears on the left or right ends of your world.

Only one Dungeon spawns in each world, so if it’s not on the rightmost side of your world it will be on the leftmost side.

Once you find the Dungeon, wait for nighttime and speak with the old man. Accept his challenge to spawn the Skeletron boss.

Make sure to take out Skeletron quickly, as it will become much stronger when it becomes dawn! With the boss taken care of, you can now finally access the Dungeon itself.

Explore it until you find the Mechanic NPC.

She will be trapped at first, so free her, and she will thank you. You can now make use of her shop. Access it and buy at least 50 Actuators and 10 Wires.

Now that you have the materials, just use any Iron or Lead anvil to craft your very own Actuator rod!
