Zenless Zone Zero: All Character Abilities and Ultimate Explained

Zenless Zone Zero showcases a handful of playable characters that you can choose to play as. Similar to other anime action RPGs like Genshin Impact, each of these characters has their own unique set of abilities as well as an ultimate.

All Character Abilities and Ultimate Explained in Zenless Zone Zero

By far, a total of 12 playable characters are now in the game, and most of them already have their gameplay videos out there. Let’s have a look at who these characters are and what are their abilities.

Anby Demara

Andy Demara belongs to the Gentle House faction and is one of the main highlights of the game. You most likely saw her as the main character used on the game’s official social media pages.

• Basic Attack: Turbo Volt – Perform 4 slashes to deal physical damage. After the third attack, hold down the hotkey to perform Thunderbolt to perform a downward strike and deal Electric damage.
• Special Attack: Fork Lightning – Perform an upward slash for massive Electric damage. This can be further augmented by her EX special attack Lightning Bolt where she performs a more powerful version of Fork Lightning.
• Ultimate: Overdrive Engine – Perform a powerful upward slash to targets within a small area. She then follows it up with a heavy downward slash that smashes her enemies to the ground for massive Electric damage.

Aokaku

Aokaku is part of the Hallow Special faction, with gameplay that focuses on slower but more damaging attacks. She has long windups in her attack animations which are compensated by the heavy damage she deals.

• Basic Attack: Making Rice Cakes – Perform 3 slashes to deal physical damage. While in the Scarlet Banner, press the hotkey to perform a faster version of this attack.
• Special Attack: Cooling Bento – Release a wind current to the front to deal Wind damage. After gaining enough energy, she can unleash Fanning Mosquitoes to continuously unleash wind currents until her energy runs out.
• Ultimate: Extra Large Goose and Chicken Chop – Unleash a barrage of attacks to the front and causes her to launch a Fly the Flag attack. This attack deals massive Wind damage to her enemies.

Anton

There’s not much information regarding Anton either on the official website or the game’s Twitter account. What we do know is that he’s part of the Belobog Industries faction. However, there are some videos out there that showcase his gameplay where he uses some form of a drill fitted on his hand for combat.

• Basic Attack: Enthusiastic Drills – Perform 4 attacks, with a Piledriver Attack on the fourth hit. While in Explosive Stance, press the hotkey to perform Piledriver Attacks during the second and fourth hits, dealing Electric damage. Meanwhile, the third attack will be a Drill Attack which also deals Electric damage.
• Special Attack: Turn Around, Bro! – Performs a Piledriver Attack in the front. After gaining enough Energy, Anton can also perform Horizon Smash, Bro! where he performs several Piledriver Attacks in a line for massive Physical damage.
• Ultimate: Go Go Go Go Go! – Delivers a Piledriver Attack to the ground to deal massive Electric damage in a wide area.

Billy Kid

Similar to Anby, Billy Kid is also highlighted as one of the main characters in the game. He belongs to the Gentle House faction and plays as a gunslinger wielding two big-ass pistols.

• Basic Attack: Full Firepower – Fire piercing bullets at enemies on the front, dealing physical damage.
• Special Attack: Stand Still – Fire 3 piercing bullets in a straight line to deal Physical damage. With enough energy, Billy Kid can perform Clearance Time, an enhanced version of Stand Still, for massive Physical damage.
• Ultimate: Starlight Sparkle – Fire a powerful piercing attack in a wide area to deal massive Physical damage.

Ben

Ben is a unique bear-human hybrid from Belobog Industries who wields a massive weapon that has the shape of a pillar. He has a slow attack animation but deals massive damage on a wide area.

• Basic Attack: Debt Reconciliation – Perform up to 5 strikes to deal physical damage.
• Special Attack: Fiscal Fist – Enter Defense stance which greatly reduces the damage he takes by 80%. He will then strike an enemy in the front when hit, dealing Physical damage. With enough energy, Ben can perform Cashflow Counter where he enters an enhanced Defense state to completely block all incoming attacks.
• Ultimate: Complete Payback – Performs a powerful strike in a very wide area to deal massive Physical damage to enemies.

Nicole Demara

The leader of the Gentle House group, Nicole uses a briefcase which she uses to smash her enemies’ heads. This briefcase, however, actually hides a gun inside that lets her fire projectiles at her targets.

• Basic Attack: Cunning Combo – Perform up to 5 strikes to deal physical damage. Her weapon can also fire bullets that deal more damage to enemies in a wide area.
• Special Attack: Sugarcoated Bullet – Fires at enemies on the front to deal Physical damage. With enough energy, you can activate Stuffed Sugarcoated Bullet to fire a projectile that creates an energy field at a target area. This energy field will then pull enemies toward the center to deal Physical damage.
• Ultimate: Ether Grenade – Basically a more powerful version of the Stuffed Sugarcoated Bullet skill.

Corin Wickes

Corin is part of Victoria Housekeeping, which explains why she wears a maid outfit. She also wields a staff weapon with a buzzsaw at the tip for combat.

• Basic Attack: Wipeout – Perform 5 slashes to deal physical damage.
• Special Attack: Clean Sweep – Perform several slashes in the front to deal Physical damage. You can hold this skill to extend its duration. With enough energy, you can perform Beware the Skirt which is an improved version of Clean Sweep with higher damage.
• Ultimate: Very, Very Sorry! – Perform a powerful slash in a small area to deal massive Physical damage.

Miyabi

Miyabi is a cute-looking character who wears fox ears and wields a katana for combat. She is part of the Hollow Special group.

• Basic Attack: Kazahana – Perform 5 slashes, the first 3 of which deal physical damage while the last 2 deal Ice damage. She also gains an Arcane Blade stack after the final slash. With 3 stacks of Arcane Blade, you can perform Shimotsuki to perform a powerful slash for massive Ice damage.
• Special Attack: Miyuki – Perform a slash in a straight line to deal Ice damage. After gaining enough energy, you can perform Hanabira Yuki to deal massive Ice damage to a straight line. You can also hold the hotkey to perform a powerful slash that deals massive Ice damage in a circular area in front of you. After that, you will gain a stack of Arcane Blade.
• Ultimate: Nagori Yuki – Perform a powerful slash that deals massive Ice damage to a very wide area.

Koleda

Koleda is part of Belobog Industries and wields what looks like a pipe wrench in one hand and a hammer in another.

• Basic Attack: Smash ‘n’ Bash – Perform up to 4 strikes to deal physical damage.
• Special Attack: Hammer Time – Strike enemies in the front using her hammer to deal Physical damage. You can press the skill a second time to trigger an explosion and deal Fire damage to enemies. With enough energy, you can perform Boiling Furnace to deal massive Fire damage.
• Ultimate: Hammerquake – Perform a powerful slash in a very wide area to deal massive Fire damage to nearby enemies.

Nekomiya Mana

Similar to Miyabi, Nekomiya is also a cute-looking character that wears animal ears. This time, however, she wears cat ears with two cat tails at the back. She belongs to the Gentle House group and wields dual daggers for combat.

• Basic Attack: Kitty Slash – Perform 5 slashes to deal physical damage. You can also hold down the hotkey to perform Crimson Blade after the third attack. This will cause you to slash enemies in the front and pass through them.
• Special Attack: Surprise Attack – Perform a downward strike to enemies on the front and deal Physical damage. With enough energy, you can perform Super Surprise Attack! for even more damage.
• Ultimate: Claw Smash – Slash enemies in a very wide area to deal massive Physical damage.

Soldier 11

We don’t have enough information about Solder 11. All we know is that she’s from OBOLS Squad and wields a blade to perform fast, powerful slashes.

• Basic Attack: Warmup Sparks – Perform 4 slashes to deal physical damage. You can also press the hotkey with perfect timing to convert the attacks into Fire Suppression which are essentially more powerful versions that deal Fire damage.
• Special Attack: Raging Fire – Slash nearby enemies and deal Fire damage. With enough energy, you can perform Fervent Fire to deal massive Fire damage to nearby enemies.
• Ultimate: Following Flame – Performs a powerful slash that deals massive Fire damage to enemies in a small area.

Von Lycaon

Lastly, we have Von Lycaon, a human-wolf hybrid who is part of the Victoria Housekeeping group similar to Corin. However, he wears a tuxedo that’s akin to what butlers use. Also, he doesn’t wield any weapon, instead relying on his martial arts and fast-paced combos to deal with enemies.

• Basic Attack: Moon Hunter – Perform 5 strikes that deal physical damage. You can also hold down the hotkey to charge the attack and increase its power while dealing Ice damage at the same time.
• Special Attack: Chase of the Hunt – Perform several strikes that deal Ice damage. With enough energy, you can perform Thrill of the Hunt which is a more powerful version of Chase of the Hunt. You can also hold down the hotkey to increase the power of this skill.
• Ultimate: Mission Complete – Performs a barrage of powerful attacks that deal massive Ice damage to enemies in a very wide area.
