Getting all the portraits required to finish the puzzle is the first step in solving it. Two of the portraits can be found when you first enter the attic.

One will already be attached to the wall, and the other will be in the corner next to the attic access ladder. You must complete a puzzle and more of the story for the other two.

Solving Attic Portrait Puzzle

As mentioned above, you will need to collect the four portraits to solve the puzzle. Grandpa’s house has two portraits that you can discover in the attic. These are portraits of Giovinna and Albert Maxwell. Above a little white table, Albert Maxwell’s portrait is hung on the left wall. Giovinna Maxwell’s portrait will be positioned next to some boxes, close to the left wall.

Pascual Maxwell is the subject of the third portrait, displayed in grandpa’s office. Head to the small living area and enter the door to get to grandpa’s office. Follow the corridors with the moving statues until you come to a room with a projector. Then, proceed to the adjacent room with a red light in the hallway. The third portrait will be on display, hanging on the wall. Play Loodchrome Film on the projector to get one of the Medallions as well.

The final portrait, Filomena Maxwell’s, can be found in a hidden area inside Grandpa’s room. You must complete the Planet Medallions Puzzle to unlock it. The secret area will become visible after you have finished the Planet Medallions Puzzle. Use the hammer to break down the barrier, then go into the hidden space to get the final portrait.

Return to the attic to complete the attic puzzle once you have collected all four portraits. Take a photo of the empty frame space where portraits hang on the walls. Shake the polaroid to reveal a number. You must now add or subtract this number from the ones on the back of the portraits, which indicate the age of the person in the portrait. All of them must have a total of 43 to be placed correctly. Then, hang the portrait in each of the four photo frame placements after completing this step.

The lights will flicker after the portraits are in place, indicating that you did it correctly. Check the hole in the brick wall once more once the haunting has subsided. Then a crimson door will taunt you in place of the number 43. Then the wall will collapse, allowing you to continue.
