Runescape: Best Skills to Use | Skill Tier List

As of today, Runescape already has 27 skills that you can unlock and access if you are playing as a member. However, if you’re a free-to-play player, you can only access 17 skills.

The good news is, not all of these skills are essential to be unlocked. You only need a few of them. Here’s a guide so you can easily track which skills to focus on.

Skill Tier List in Runescape

Among all the skills, there are always the best and worst in terms of use and significance. Here, we will categorize the skills into Amazing, Good, Decent, Mediocre, and Bad.

In terms of the skills that belong to the highest tier, these are Invention, Herblore, Archaeology, and Summoning. For the Good tier, these would be the Prayer, Magic, Dungeoneering, Slayer, Strength, Attack, Ranged, Constitution, Defence, and Divination.

Moving on to the Decent tier, we have Firemaking, Farming, Runecrafting, Construction, Hunter, Crafting, Agility, and Smithing.

Both for the Mediocre and Bad tier skills, there are three skills each. For Mediocre, there are Thieving, Fletching, and Fishing. And for Bad, there are Woodcutting, Mining, and Cooking.

There are a lot of skills available in Runescape, so you might get overwhelmed by them. To help you with that, here are the best skills you want to focus on:

Summoning

Summoning is one of the most useful skills that you have to upgrade due to its use. This skill allows you to summon familiars which can be extremely helpful in any activity.

What’s good here is that the higher the level, the stronger the familiars you can summon. However, summoning is a member-only skill.

Magic

Among the different combat styles, magic is by far the strongest one. In terms of versatility, damage, and survivability, magic is top-notch. Even though the main role of this skill is to increase magic attack accuracy, it also increases your magical defenses.

This makes spells like the already powerful Animate Dead spell even more overpowered.

Prayer

Prayer is another good skill that you can access as a free-to-play player. This one is essential, especially when it comes to combat due to amazing curses that can actually give you a major buff.

As you level up the skill, you also unlock new helpful prayers with longer durations.

Slayer

This skill allows you to easily earn money, combat experience, and charms. It makes combat easy as it allows you to deal massive damage to resilient creatures, especially if you are using specialist equipment.

Leveling up this skill makes it easier for you to take on stronger creatures. However, this is also a member-only skill.

Dungeoneering

Another fun skill to have is dungeoneering. Most of the players find this exciting since they see it as a mini-game.

Dungeoneering allows you to explore randomly generated dungeons in Daemonheim. As you further upgrade this skill, you’ll also be able to access deeper dungeon floors.

Divination

This skill allows you to gain access to sign the porter which enables you to auto-bank items when you are gathering resources by fishing or wood cutting.

You’re also given access to divine locations which gives you the best EXP per hour daily. Also, you can get various buffs for Guthix.

Sadly, Divination is a member-only skill.

Invention

Invention is quite possibly the most important skill in Runescape. This gives you a faster way to gain experience in the game. This also allows you to customize your gear and add buffs with different perks available.

With its impressive ability, it is not surprising to know that this is a member-only skill.

Archaeology

With this skill, you can obtain strong relic powers that will increase your skilling per hour. Plus, this also gives you some access to ancient summoning and ancient inventions which gives you passive benefits.

This is the newest skill added to the game, and it’s arguably one of the best skills. This is also a member-only skill.
