Power Cores aren’t one of the most useful materials you can find in Kenshi, at least not on their own.

Realistically, the Power Cores have no use on their own. You can’t use them to power up anything, for example. However, they do have a pretty solid sell value of 3000 Cats, which makes them great loot for getting some funds!

In this quick guide, I’ll tell you where to find Power Cores with ease.

Where to Find Power Cores | Locations Guide

Power Cores are primarily found in ancient ruins. One of the main ones for this are, as shown in the example above, the Ancient Labs.

Those labs are particularly full of Power Cores, so you should always look for them as you explore in Kenshi. Nearby discovered ancient locations will show up on your map when you’re close enough, after all.

For a more complete list, the next list names all the types of locations where you’re likely to find Power Cores:

  • Ancient Labs
  • Armoury Ruin
  • Archive Town
  • Leaning Tower
  • Lost Town
  • Old Empire Watchtower
  • Dead Workshop, Deadland Workshop, Post-Ancient Workshop, Workshop Complex

Aside from those types of locations, the Power Cores do not spawn in any other places. So, those are your only bets if you absolutely need the Power Cores.

Worth noting, however, the Ancient Labs are also a bit of a special case. Sometimes, items picked up from the ground at Ancient Labs count as stolen. This applies to the Power Cores, too.

To get rid of the stolen item tag, just store the Power Cores inside any container within the Ancient Labs. The item will no longer be marked as stolen once you take it back out of the container, thankfully.

Regardless, there you have it! Power Cores are simply found within any ancient location in Kenshi, with them not being particularly rare to find. Nonetheless, I hope this helps you find them more easily.

Another item you’ll likely need in Kenshi is the Engineering Research. It’s a rare resource too, so it can be hard to find! If you need help with that as well, check out our guide on where to find Engineering Research.
