Scrappy’s gathering service is one of the most useful passive systems in ARC Raiders, especially once you start crafting gear regularly and refining high-quality materials.
While the rooster starts off modestly, upgrading him will improve the amount of crafting resources you can get between raids. However, some of his upgrade materials are hard to find, especially the random Residential loot and Nature collectibles.
In this guide, we’ll show you where to find all of the materials you need to max out Scrappy’s upgrades!
All Scrappy’s Upgrade Material Locations | ARC Raiders
Scrappy stays in Speranza, hoarding materials while you’re out on Raids. Whenever you return, you can then collect these materials for free.
To upgrade this service to get more materials every time, you’ll need the following:
Dog Collar

Let’s start off with the one item required to get Scrappy to Level 2, the Dog Collar!
Unfortunately, this material is RNG-heavy, which means there’s no set location where it spawns. The good news is that you only need to find 1 Dog Collar.
It can simply spawn randomly whenever you breach and search containers within Residential areas, such as the Ruby Residence or Research & Admin Building on the Dam Battlegrounds map.
There, you want to search every cabinet, drawer, locker, and container you can find. Some players do report getting it in other areas, but Residential areas seem to be the main spot to look for.
Sadly, there’s no simple guide for this besides just wishing you luck. However, I would recommend doing Night Raids as you generally get more and better loot during those.
Lemons, Apricots, and Olives

Next up, you’ll need these 3 fruit items: Lemons, Apricots, and Olives. Thankfully, they all can be found within the Olive Grove area in the Blue Gate map.

Lemons and Apricots are usually on the ground near small fruit trees, while Olives are by the taller trees.

Remember, you can also interact with these trees to give them a kick! This has a chance of making more fruits fall down, so give it a shot.
Do take note that the Olive Grove has also become a fairly active PvP hotspot because so many players farm these materials there.
If possible, try entering from the outer edge of the area instead of running directly through the middle.
Aside from this spot, you can also find these trees in any other area marked as Natural. However, the Olive Grove is by far the most reliable spot to farm for them.
If you plan on farming a different Natural area, we recommend waiting for Lush Blooms events. They increase the amount of fruits you can get. Also, as always, Night Raids yield more loot.
Lastly, here’s a quick list of how many of these fruits you’ll need for Scrappy’s upgrades:
- Lemons – 3 for Level 3.
- Apricots – 3 for Level 3, 12 for Level 5. Total of 15.
- Olives – 6 for Level 4.
Mushrooms

Alright, Mushrooms… these are going to be the most obnoxious material to farm here, as they’re fairly rare.
You can mostly find them in the Swamp area in the western section of the Dam Battlegrounds map. They also spawn in other areas and in other maps, but that’s your best bet by far.
For the most part, Mushrooms grow out of tree trunks. Sometimes they also appear on the ground by the swamp’s edges, though. They’re pretty large and white, so they’re easy to spot even from a distance. The issue is mainly that they spawn pretty infrequently.
To farm these, we highly recommend waiting for a Lush Blooms event. Doing a Night Raid could also help, although it will make them harder to spot, in which case daytime runs are more efficient.
For Scrappy’s sake, you’ll need to get 12 Mushrooms in total.
Prickly Pears

This fruit is one of the more annoying ones to hunt down, but it’s not as bad as some of the other items on this list. It generally spawns on the grounds near cacti.
Now, to find cacti, we recommend playing on the Buried City or Dam Battlegrounds maps. They seem to have the largest number of cacti overall, giving you the most chances to find Prickly Pears.

As for a specific spot, the area around the Pattern House in the northern part of the Dam Battlegrounds has quite a few cacti. It’s a good spot to farm these Prickly Pears!
When farming, you need to get up to a total of 6 Prickly Pears. They’re required only for the Level 4 upgrade.
Very Comfortable Pillows and Cat Beds

Much like the Dog Collar, these items are random loot drops.
You can randomly find them as loot inside any container in Residential and Commercial areas. The Testing Annex in the Dam Battlegrounds is a good spot to try farming, as it has a lot of containers.
Even more if you got the Testing Annex Key!
Aside from that, the general advice applies: try a Night Raid. You might just get luckier during them, after all. You’ll need 1 Cat Bed for Level 4 and 3 Comfortable Pillows for Level 5.
Final Upgrade Material Tally

Lastly, before we let you go, here’s a quick list of everything you’ll need to get Scrappy to max level:
- Level 2 – Dog Collar x1
- Level 3 – Lemons x3, Apricots x3
- Level 4 – Prickly Pears x6, Olives x6, Cat Bed x1
- Level 5 – Apricots x12, Mushrooms x12, Very Comfortable Pillows x3
Some players debate how effective Scrappy’s scaling currently is, but upgrading him still offers a steady passive supply of crafting materials. These can quickly add up over time.
Even if the gains seem small early on, fully upgrading Scrappy will reduce the need to constantly pick up low-tier crafting materials during your runs.
There you have it, that’s the locations for every upgrade material required for Scrappy’s levels in ARC Raiders. We hope this helps you make the most of Scrappy’s service!
