You will need to find at least one Great Fairy to upgrade your armors in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The 4 Great Fairies return from Breath of the Wild and offer the same armor enhancement services. However, their locations have changed, and awakening them requires more effort!

In this guide, we’ll tell you where to find each one of these Great Fairies and how to awaken them.

The Great Fairy Bulbs have been moved dramatically, compared to their positions in Breath of the Wild. They are all close to various stables, which makes them easier to find.

However, you will also need to do a lot more work to wake them up and unlock their services, since each Great Fairy is part of a side quest now.

You should also have already met Traysi and Penn at the Lucky Clover Gazette, in the Hebra region.

They will give you a quest on the first meeting, but you don’t actually need to do it yet. You just need to speak with them once.

With that out of the way, you can start looking for the Great Fairies! Your first Great Fairy should be Tera.

Great Fairy Tera can be found near the Woodland Stable. This stable is northeast of Central Hyrule and southwest of Eldin.

However, she won’t open her bulb until she hears a violin!

Remember when we said you will need to work more to awaken them? You will have to complete the “Serenade to” quest for each Great Fairy.

How to Awaken Each One and Where to Find the Others

The summary for every one of the Serenade quests is simple, however. Go to the stable closest to the Great Fairy and find the musicians, then help them with their troubles so they can reach the fairy.

They will then play some music for the fairy, which will complete the quest and unlock the Great Fairy’s armor upgrade services for you.

Doing this for Great Fairy Tera will mark all of the other bulb locations on your map, making them easier to find.

Mija is at the Snowfield Stable near Hebra, in the northwest.

Kaysa is near the Outskirt Stable in Hyrule Field, in the southwest.

Cotera is close to the Dueling Peaks Stable in western Necluda, in the southeast.

Awakening them will work the same every time, as previously mentioned. Just help the musicians at the closest stable and they will wake her up with their music.

The Serenade quests can be quite long, featuring a variety of puzzles for you to solve, but they all follow the same formula.

Every Great Fairy you awaken will unlock the ability to enhance your armor even further, but all of them offer the same services as well.

As in, your armor’s upgrade potential depends only on how many Great Fairies you have awakened. It doesn’t matter which one of them does the upgrading.

Anyway, you now know where to find each Great Fairy in Tears of the Kingdom. Find and awaken all of them to fully upgrade your clothes!
