The best way to fend off the darkness and light up areas is by using Brighbloom Seeds, as we mentioned in the introduction.

You will commonly find these seeds in all of the caves and wells you can find spread across the game’s massive open world.

Brighbloom Seeds will take root and start glowing once you strike them with a weapon or arrow, which will light up caves and any other dark areas.

They’re absolutely vital when you wish to explore the pitch-dark Depths of Hyrule!

You can find your Brightbloom Seeds in the Materials section of your inventory if you have already picked some up.

Press A to select them and then choose Hold. Press A to drop them on the floor and then strike them with any weapon to instantly activate them, providing light to the surroundings.

Alternatively, you can use your Fuse ability to combine them with your arrows while aiming your bow. Just hold ZR to aim and then press up on the Dpad to bring up the list of materials.

Select the Brightbloom Seed and close the materials menu. Now just lose the arrow and the seed will attach to any surface it hits and activate, which will light up the area.

This is by far the best way to illuminate caves and dark areas in Tears of the Kingdom since you don’t need to carry a torch or anything.

Using them with your arrows also allows you to illuminate far-away areas, letting you know what’s up ahead! This will be extremely important while exploring the dangerous Depths.
