Terraria update version 1.4.4 has been released last September 28, 2022, with a lot of new and modified features for its loyal players. One of the most anticipated features from this patch update is the numerous amount of new permanent buffs that you can obtain inside the game.
Having said that, you will not have to worry anymore about the duration or cooldown of the buffs that you are acquiring while in the game. With these permanent buffs, you can enjoy enhancements and upgrades throughout your whole progress of the game.
So to make it easier for you to explore the updates, especially the permanent buffs, we made this guide to let you know the ways how you can obtain the permanent buffs in Terraria version 1.4.4 update.
Most of the permanent buffs that are added to the game are either purchased or crafted by the Shimmer. In this section, we will let you know which ones are purchased and which ones can be obtained after using the Shimmer.
This first item can be purchased from the Skeleton Merchant. If you are planning to buy the Artisan Loaf from him, make sure to buy as much as you need before you even try to consume one. Eating the loaf of bread will stop the Skeleton Merchant from selling it to you.
Once you have consumed the artisan loaf, you will get a permanent increase in the crafting station access range of four tiles.
However, here are the buffs that can be crafted and obtained after using the shimmer.
The Vital Crystal is a permanent buff in terms of the character’s life regeneration skills by 20%. Next is the Aegis Crystal which permanently increases your defense by 4. And the Arcane Crystal permanently reduces the cooldown between the use of mana and restoring your mana by 5%.
On the other hand, Ambrosia improves your mining speed and placement speed by 5% as well. The Gummy Worm improves your finishing power by 3. While the Galaxy Pearl is your friend if you think you are not lucky enough. It increases your luck by 0.03.
The Advanced Combat Techniques Volume 2 will boost the town NPC’s defense by 6, and their damage by 20. You might have realized at this point that it has the same stats as volume 1. In fact, you can stack them together to further toughen and strengthen them.
The Peddler Satchel, on the other hand, increases the selling inventory of the Traveling Merchant by 1.

How To Obtain The Oracle Deck For The Steam Achievement “The Heart of the Cards” – Core Keeper
The Oracle Deck is an epic accessory (equipable items that provide stat boosts to the player). The “epic” part may be scary, but basically, you’ll need to combine items to get the Deck.
The most challenging part might be collecting the necessary materials. There’s a total of nine Oracle Cards plus the Thread of Fate, which can help you see what cards you’re missing in case you haven’t got them all yet.
Once you acquire all the materials, you’ll want to place the Thread of Fate on your action bar, then click outside of the action bar to activate it. Wait for the crafting to end, and then you’ll unlock the Steam achievement “The Heart of the Cards”. And that’s it!
Also, if you’re wondering where to find the Thread of Fate, that would be in the Desert of Beginnings.
It’s in an area where you can break the wall to access it. A decorative structure will be in the middle of this room, which you need to break—after you break the sneaky turrets encircling it—to reveal a digging spot. Dig and voilà! There’s the Thread of Fate.
