With the league’s mechanics allowing you to apply a Crucible passive skill tree to a weapon of your choice, this means you can craft some ridiculously powerful items if you’re lucky enough.
The problem is, Crucible skill trees are given at random. And in the event that your weapon received a skill tree that’s mostly useless, you might end up giving up crafting as a whole.

If you have obtained a nice base for a weapon to craft on, the next step you’ll want to do is to give it a Crucible passive skill tree. But as mentioned earlier, the passives are given randomly.
So if your weapon happens to receive a useless skill tree, your only option is to reroll it. This way, you can keep the base and its links while doing away with all of those awful passive skill trees.

Here’s how you can do it:
- Make sure to remove any modifiers on your weapon. To do so, use an Orb of Scouring and apply it to the weapon you want to reroll.
- After that, prepare 1x Blacksmith Whetstone and a Rustic Sash. The sash doesn’t have to be anything noteworthy. It could just be a rare item with random mods (item level doesn’t matter either).
- Lastly, simply sell the three items to a vendor. The resulting item will be the base weapon without any modifier whatsoever but without the awful Crucible passive skill tree as well.
That’s basically what you have to do. In order to reroll your weapon and remove its passive skill tree, you just have to follow this exact vendor recipe.
Then, you can look for a Crucible mechanic on any map and try your luck once again!
