This article will help you with this problem.

Controller Not Working Fix for Playstation and Xbox

This problem has been plaguing console players ever since the release of MultiVersus. Many players cannot move their characters around. Some can only jump even after mapping all the buttons correctly. Nothing works even if you mash the controls on your controllers.

Fixing the Controller not Working on Playstation

Truthfully, the fix is relatively simple for Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox 1, and Series X users.

From the main menu of Multiversus, head to Settings and select Audio and Language. Change the game’s language to Japanese, which can be found at the bottom part of the drop-down menu.

Go back to your controller settings and change the controller mappings from legacy to default or default to legacy. Whichever you are on, just choose the other.

Afterward, go back to Audio and Language, change the language to English and try it out in The Lab. This method has been shown on Reddit, and works for others.
